It will definately be ready for Friday.
It usually takes a maximum of a day to dissolve.
I sometimes stand mine in hot water though to drink the same night

whatever you're infusing then has to be removed afterwards (e.g. chilli vodka - unless you like the OMG factor like my OH then you're supposed to remove the chilli after a week)
OMG!!
CHILLI vodka! I have to try that!!Is it hot & spicy? I'm making toffee vodka for my mum, but I'm not into sticky & sweet. That would be right up my street!
Just to let you know that I made a blackjack vodka and a fruit salad one last night, they look fantastic.
I freakin love blackjacks!! Must try that one!Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Ok so following the destructions here: http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/msbrackenridge/entry/the_something_random/
I made some strawberry vodka yesterday and have finished it off today. It was unbelievably easy and now I am thinking about buying a big bottle and asking on freecycle for miniature bottles and making some more!!!
Anyway here are some pics. I only made one bottle and only used red skittles.
And finished voddieRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

yep, although according to the instructions it takes aruond 5 days for them to dissolve so I think I may not have used enough. Need to get OH to taste it when he comes home (I don't drink so won't taste it) It may well be I need more red skittles and add them to this mixture then follow the same process however it would still only take a max of 5 ish days. I just shook the bottle everytime I passed it.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
I recall doing this a while ago but I can't remember if it was more complicated than it sounds.
I have some very hot cayenne peppers from the g'house which I would like to incorporate into easy gifts.
I'm sure that at some time past I put them in a small decorative bottle with vodka (or was it gin?) and then all that was needed was a teaspoon in dishes to make it hot and spicy. The alcohol preserves but dissipates (right word) when cooking.
Anybody else done this and is there anything else to add to the bottle or is it really that simple?
Thanks0 -
I think you just need to make sure the bottle is sterile before you start putting stuff in it, although vodka's quite likely to kill any germs that may be lurking.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
