Thanks for all the helpful posts.
I made the werthers one about 2 weeks ago, but I don't think I have put enough toffee in, just seen post about popping in freezer, so it is there ready and waiting for me to try.
Just to let you know that I made a blackjack vodka and a fruit salad one last night, they look fantastic.
Can't wait to try those!
Do all your friends think you are mad?!?
(bet they won't when they taste them though)0 -

Just a quick update - Werthers one horrible, will be trying different mixers to make it drinkable!
BUT - fruit salad vodka, and blackjack are gorgeous, will def make these again.
Anyone any tips on making the werthers one more drinkable?
I have added more sweets, but this has made it too sweet - yes I am fussy!0 -
sorry tcclalel no tips on the werthers one as I really like it! Try putting in the freezer?
Mine just tastes like alcoholic toffee....0 -
Is there a definitive amount of sweets to bottle size that someone can suggest? I have a load of 500Ml bottles, how many sweets should I put in? I'm hoping to get some of this done myself before Xmas.Winnings

From what I can gather it is down to personal taste.
For a 750ml bottle of vodka, I split the drink and put 2 x 25p packs of sweets in each.
Can't advise on the werthers as I don't like mine!0 -
Thanks tcclalel

Hi,
am about to order bottles to put vodkas in and then go and but the ingredients tomorrow. I have settled on toffee vodka and Xmas Pud vodka as gifts. A couple of people were talking about the Xmas Pud vodka - how did it turn out? I think Quakers wasn't too impressed with the colour but was waiting to strain it.

Lol.
Oh, it looks horrible.
But tastes scrumptious
I even let my kids dip their fingers in it for a taste and they said it tasted just like xmas pud - well, sort ofSometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
I have loved this. I tried the Toffee Vodka first.
I bought a load of the taster bottles of wine from Asda (And drank the wine) then washed out the bottles to use for my experiment.
I used half a packet of Werthers per bottle and once it was all dissolved (about 3/4 days) I put it in the freezer for another couple of days.
I tried it in a shot glass and it blew my head off but it was gorgeous. I let my 15 year old daughter try it and she loved it too although it was a little strong for her and she couldn't finish off a shot glass of it.
I have also now tried sherbet gems Vodka and that is superb - really fruity.
I have bought loads of packets of different kids sweets from Sainsburys 3 for £1 range.
These are going to be great to give all my family for Christmas - If I don't drink them all first~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
