  • I'm trying haribo vodka tomorrow. Has anyone done this already?
Shall go off and make the butterscotch vodka again.
How long does it last though? I want to give it for Christmas.
    TIA!

no idea how long it lasts. i made the toffee vodka 2 weeks ago and it is half empty!! (rofl) so not that long once you open it....

I have made today 4 types for christmas hampers ... toffee, rosy apple, rhubarb & custard, and blackcurrant and liquorice. Will let you know how I get on. currently they are looking good and dissolving nicely but takes about three days to totally dissolve. The rhubarb one is the most amazing orangey pinkey colour!
  • Ok daft question but do you mix with lemonade to drink or just over ice like baileys ?

if you are making the werthers toffee vodka then freeze it.

Vodka wont freeze and putting the bottle in the freezer makes the mixture thick and creamy and much much nicer.

    I drink it neat :o

But over ice would be good too :D
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...
  • I've been reading this thread with the intention of giving it a try. Now, I've got the vodka already in the house, one of life's essentials, surely:rotfl:, but I've got chewy asda smart price toffees, do you think it would work:confused:. Or should I really go and get werthers originals.
I've noticed that you use all sorts of things, drumsticks, jelly babies etc, but I just don't want to waste my vodkakakaka.

trying I'm not sure if the chewy toffees would work, saw a pp who said they didn't dissolve as well as the hard werthers ones. And they are on 3 for 2 at asda just now.

Have now tasted the rhubarb and custard vodka - I really liked it but it was very sweet and VERY strong. DH didn't like it neat but think it would mix well with lemonade.

We tried the rosy apple vodka with lemonade. Was LOVELY tasted like schnapps.

Going to try the blackcurrant and licorice one tonight. Warning to anyone who makes this, it separates in the bottle and the licorice portion (like a muddy colour) goes to the top and the blackcurrant portion goes to the bottom. If you shake it up it combines back together. Going to have to put a note on the label for the gifts methinks.

That is if my bottles ever arrive....

I have used tesco chewy toffee in 2 bottles, it looks like it isn't going to mix but suddenly does. Also did 2 with value eclairs and a little extra chocolate and they have worked out great, in fact delicious. and creamy. Yummmmy:)

does the chocolate melt in permanently or does it separate a bit so you need to warm it up again? Just to know if it is suitable for gifts or not? I don't mind if you need to mix it up a bit for your own use but would look a bit  to give as a gift maybe.
