Toffee Vodka success (merged with other flavours)

Am planning cough candy twist vodka for my mum, might also do pear drop version, and possibly chilli for my brother (he'd like the OMG factor lol).
I bought a couple of the little bottles of wine from Asda at £1.50 each and will use those (DH happy to empty them for me!). Only problem I've got is being pregnant, so I can't taste-test them myself to see if the mix is right, and DH doesn't like the flavours I want to do0 -
How many packs of Werthers Originals do you need per 700ml of Vodka?0

hy all,
after numerous success's with the toffee vodka we decided to try Kola cube vodka at the weekend. What can i say, except i won't be doing it again  It was like syrup, i think it must of been all the chewy stuff thats in the middle of them. an sooooooo sweet an strong. its true what they say about the sugar !
Anyways there is still 3 quarters of a bottle sitting in the fridge. Even my friends wouldn't drink it. Must say though its not half as thick now !
I think we are gonna try the toblerone 1 this weekendam just a bit worried about the bits of nuggat will they dissolve ?

i use a large family bag - I counted them today and theres about 25 in the pack (but i might have popped a few in my mouth as i was going along).
I've just made the Christmas pudding Vodka too. It looks disgusting but I hope once its filtered it will look ok. I halved the amounts on the recipe and used half the voddie amount too - just in case it didn't turn out ok.
I'll try and remember to come back in 2 weeks to let you know how it is
I've also bought lots of mini wine bottle from Asda - I'm able to get the money off a bigger bottle and the bottles are a good size and once the labels are soaked off they are 'plain'. The lids aren't marked with any wine makers marks etc.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
i have tried drumstick lolly vodka that was lovely .same principle as all the rest .bitter...lol0

I do loads of vodkas this way. The skittles one turned out lovely even with the green ones in. The colour was a gorgeous clear orange colour.
I dont knwo if you do this but i filter mine through coffee filters after which keeps it nice and clear.
I have the xmas pud vodka on now and friends are doing campino vodka too. I have started a trend amongst my mates we have all kinds of stuff on at the mo like pear drops etc. Really any candy would work i guess. i have been trying to get hold of some tootie frooties (remember them) because i think that would be lovely.
annoying thing is i cant drink any of it!!! will save myself some to drink after the baby is born i think - why should OH have all the fun!0 -
NBirdy: if you want a truly OMG chilli vodka, cut up (take out the seeds) and quarter 3 or so scotch bonnet chillis. You can buy them in asian/chinese supermarkets. I would wear gloves if you can, while preparing, as they are extremely hot. i would leave it for a week to a few days. We left ours for three weeks and its inedible to everyone but my OH (and OH has indonesian blood: they're fed chillis from the cradle, i think!).
stikiuk: toblerone vodka. You can bash up with a rolling pin, the chocolate. The nougat part won't dissolve, nor will the nuts. You can either filter and pour the filtered liquid back into the bottle, or present as it is and warn the recipient. I ended up filtering. Btw if you are tempted to put more neat vodka in with already made toblerone vodka to "top up the bottle" or something, don't. It seperates and doesn't mix at all well. Found that one out the hard way - had to give the bottle to OH (but he didn't mind.. *hic* :T lol) Planning to do another bottle of toblerone and maybe a bottle of after eight and cadbury's orange flavour..

And their Raspberry Absolut is only £10 too:DSometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
