Yesterday was a NSD as I persuaded DH that he didn't need to go to Tesco for £5 worth of snacks as we had plenty in.

Weather is awful today, non stop torrential rain. We have ventured into town though just to get out for a bit. Used my Body Shop birthday voucher to get foundation for DD, it was buy one get one half price so we got 2 £10 tubes for £10 in total, then she got my free Greggs birthday sweet treat and a free Greggs coffee that she shared with DH. We also got 2 for £1 veggie sausage rolls from the Pound Bakery but no-one really liked them.

Got a tub of Dr Martens Wonder Balsam from an independent shoe shop and it was cheaper than anyone online, I have used it on my Docs and DH's Timberland boots, it is worth buying it to keep expensive boots in good condition, I will use it on my leather chair too. Lastly I got 3 packs of Graze flapjacks which were YS.

Going to have a salt bath before tea then get my pj's on. Tea is burgers and salad and I will make some hm nachos for supper to keep DH happy.

Weather has been awful here too. Snow, sleet and rain so we sheltered indoors.

Planted up some parsley in the plastic pots I saved yesterday. Saved another couple today and am going to plant some chives. Pots are on the kitchen window sill. Fingers crossed they grow.

Defrosted and tidied the big freezer and now have an up to date list. It's coming along nicely and I have meal planned for next week to hopefully use some more up.

Found a couple of small bookcases in a cupboard in the Boy's ex room. Moved them into our bedroom and tidied Himself's books into them. Looking much, much better.

Plodding on with doing small things.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Today I am grateful for dd sleeping in, for being able to complete a tough (for me) workout, for the buds on my apple trees appearing overnight as if by magic, for our library, for a rugbyfest of a day, for dh agreeing to a week away in an airbnb place or similar in the summer, for not getting wet when out and about, for yummy slow cooker food, for plentiful buses.

Left the house at 5.30 this morning for a meeting in London - got home just after 7pm, so I am shattered. Normal service shall resume soon - I just wanted to pop on and send lots of love and hugs to Fmess - the right thing is such a tough thing to do sometimes.

Thank you all and ccl, I know you’re super busy! Thanks for the lovely quote Apple.

Ended up at a spa today. One of my sister’s friends dropped out so I went for a bargain price, was just what I needed :)

Many many hugs fmess. So sorry for your loss. It's such a hard decision, even when you know it is the right one. Hope the happy memories of your beloved companion give you comfort but remember to let your grief run it's course.

  • Happy St Patrick's day all☘️☘️

Apple muncher Thank you for the quotes, they bring focus to my day.
Shrewbie I hope the cockroaches have left the building, horrible critters.

    Waste management
    - Food waste - I need to do a fridge and freezer inventory and plan next week's meals.
    - Plastics – I continue to try and be inventive with the plastics. I used a bread bag as a freezer bag yesterday.
    - Utilities – I have reduced the ironing I do. I only iron if its really necessary. Its a win win situation. I have a little more free time. :T:T
    - Money – Still focusing on reducing spending and aiming to be within budget at the end of the month.

    Invest in yourself
    - Do something every single day that makes you happy.
It's St Patrick's day and always a little celebration here in Ireland. A family day planned.
    - Do something else every single day that takes you a little bit nearer to your long-term goals (and now is a good time to set some, if you don’t have any…)
Bootcamp yesterday and I hope to achieve my 10000 steps.
    - Learn a new skill or re-start an old one.
    Still thinking.
    - Can you grow any food this year?
I now have a basil plant which I will provide tender loving care to. Hopefully it will survive.

    Needs not wants
    - We all know Martin’s mantra. Be consistent in applying it. Learn to distinguish between what you truly need and what you want to have now and simply cannot ever live without…
I will make a huge effort to focus on this mantra.
    - Appreciate what you have and enjoy it.
I am grateful for a day planned with my family, breakfast in bed, a warm home and cuddles from DD.

    Simplicity

-Put routines in place that keep your life running smoothly and make things automatic.
I had a busy yesterday and I am making in roads. I have planned a couple of hours of tidying and decluttering this morning.
    - Simplify your stuff. Just get rid of the unnecessary stuff. Donate it to a charity shop. Freecycle it. Give it to friends and neighbours.
I have decluttered a few items of clothing for the charity shop.
    - Make space for yourself.
I am going to focus on my bedroom this morning and make the best use of the space I have.
    - Cut out the extra noise in your life. This might be computer games, the Interweb, tv, radio, certain people. Allow yourself peace and quiet to simply be.
I'm not sure I'll get any quiet time today but there's always tomorrow.
    - Be frugal in your needs.
Errrr I had to buy toothpaste yesterday. In my defence I found the cheapest.... Colgate on offer in L£dl at 50p. I bought 4 tubes.
    6/15 NSDs.
    9/12 Lunch to work.
    No vending machines purchases.

    Enjoy your Sunday. Xx

    Hello!

NSD 8/15 for me yesterday. Just realised it's pay day tomorrow which has cheered me up no end. Need to spend today planning classes - I've set a goal to plan everything up to the Easter hols today which may be a bit ambitious but I'll give it a good shot.

cockroach watch = 1 live one seen yesterday. The small variety but still horrid.

Hope everyone has a great day
