Not here apple.. I'm currently sitting by the window of my sunny classroom basking in 23 degrees! tomorrow will be colder but for now enjoying the sun. Sometimes I'm convinced it's the only reason I live here.. and it probably is, so going to make the most of it :rotfl:Student loan £5655

Today I am grateful for my lovely dd, for another really useful session with my counsellor, for plenty of buses when I wanted one, for getting some walking in, for sainz actually having the gen1us bread on the shelves on a Tuesday, for a good workout, for dd's teeth being fine - tho we're being referred to the orthodontist for some of them, for getting all the outside stuff done before the pelting rain arrived, for some more sorting out with dd.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

I've certainly earned my keep today. After another pointless wrestle with the @rguss website, I took a taxi to the retail park. Went in the discount store for teabags and biscuits mum wanted, looked to see if kurries had the phone handsets mum needs (so I don't have to sit or stand in the middle of the room holding the phone with the cord stretching from the box and the curly bit between me and mum's chair).
They did (big button ones that are easy to see and press) so bought that and the replacement microwave and cut out the need to go in the arguss shop. Phoned for a taxi to mum's, nice young man carried everything out for me. Refused the extended warranty, did not want to upgrade (under the warranty), 'we use them till they collapse'.
I've set up the microwave, binned the box (recycling) and put out the bins that are being collected tomorrow. Then phoned for some medical supplies mum needs, ordered and paid for the travel vouchers for next year, sorted the tax refund and am part way through getting the other half of mum's winter fuel allowance - they were told last year that mum's partner was in a home but they need a council letter confirming she is the sole occupant and gets single person discount. Need to find that (or get one from the council) then send it to them with a covering letter.
Security questions were a whole ball of fun. Explained who I was and did they need to talk to mum first, put her on and then it was pass the parcel with the phone, mum passing it back to me for them to repeat the question they had just asked her, told her what they wanted, found the relevant bit if she needed to read it out (she brought her magnifying glass the second time). At one point, after holding my finger next to her NI number i had to tell her it 2 digits at a time for her to repeat it to them, then she forgot her postcode.
All done now, apart from single occupant confirmation and a covering letter.
Today I am grateful for feeling better (brighter and clearer but still a physical wreck) and much more me, for lovely weather whilst I was out in it and for helpful shop assistants and telephone people (apart from the being stuck in a queue and the security rigmarole they were all a lot more helpful than previous occasions). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Evening everyone :hello:
Pleased to report that my mood has improved somewhat - I've gone into 'not caring' at work mode, which is better than crying or screechy hissy fit mode. Other than that, busy with work, busy after work with tutoring and exam marking. Wish I could report a nsd but as I wasn't well enough organised I grabbed food on the way home (at 7pm) for me and ds.
I too have had to investigate a new microwave. Mine has gotten so rusted on the inside that the turntable doesn't turn any more. Thankfully exam marking has started paying out now, so whilst I'm chucking everything I can at my solicitor or my debt, I have the capacity to buy a new one. Decided to go for a slightly more expensive, flatbed microwave that also has a grill and oven function. May be worthwhile as my cooker is on its last legs and there are just the three of us in the house. It'll be more educating myself though as I have no idea how they work - I just stick food in there to heat it usually:o

Morning all,
SFD number 6 yesterday. Busy at work and then took poorly dog to the vets for another check up. I’m awake now as he couldn’t sleep and needed cuddles, he’s so adorable. Made the dreaded appointment for Friday
All go here so waking up early can only be a good thing. Another member of staff off today so will go to work early and try to sort that out before I teach. I can hear the wind howling and the rain already, think it’ll suit my mood today.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

CCL that sounds like a good investment. We don't have a microwave (no room for ome and have never used one) but we do have a working regular oven now, since the last one died.
Mothernerd another busy day for you! Congrats on getting everything sorted.
Still plodding along here, still on 5 NSDs after a couple of unexpected changes at work meaning later finishes/earlier starts. Started the week with two people off sick, I'll need to keep taking my vitamins to stave off any bugs as I'm having to arrange cover left, right and centre. We also have some Family Drama going on, thankfully at a bit of a remove but I'll help out where I can.
Plans for today: head into work, try not to get blown over, home, sleep.0 -

Morning turtles,
Number 8 for me today.
I've 6 of my friends coming from Glasgow to stay with me over the weekend. We plan on going out for the Friday and Saturday night and I'm nervous about the potential spend. I have the money there, don't get me wrong, but it's these sort of occasions (nights out) which I tend to spend more than I would have I liked to and puts a real dampener on the night when I wake up with regret. So I'll be trying to be sensible.
Not to mention Friday, Saturday and Sunday will all be spend days!0
