This one isn't cordless, we had a cordless which Mum loves but has broken in little over a year so I am a bit put off. I really think it will be worth hoovering with the new one so looking forward to life changing abilities!

I have gone though all my clothes and re organised - well put them back to how they were before the Kon Mari Nightmare begun.

Sidebar, unless you have hours and hours and hours available to you don't Kon Mari. It is a brilliant system and I can understand how it works and why it is good, but to handle every single thing you own is actually strangely tiring and in my case has lead to most of this year my room being unusable whilst I did or redid the categories in fits and starts. Frustrating.

Instead I have found Dana K White, she is brilliant. Look her up!

After all the emptying and sorting I had a nap. One thing I don't understand about Saturdays, I can't keep going like I can in the week, I never nap, but without fail around 4pm on a Saturday
I get so tired I can't think straight and have to lay down for a few hours. I feel loads better afterwards so I guess I need it. It is a different type of tired in the week. Weird.

I am watching the Matrix. Such a good film.

I am also searching for storage for the shed. I am sadly excited by this.... Between this and the hoover I am quite worried about myself..........

    Sobs quietly, hopes dashed!

I like the Vax we have upstairs, mum terrified me by dropping the hoover once when carrying it upstairs, it was only luck she didn't go with it so now we have two hoovers....

I did some stuff I wanted to do and a few nice chats with Mum so it was good really. Just lots to do. But it is ok, it was actually lovely to have a choice today how I spent it. Really lovely.

I have a cordless vacuum that I just love but then again we've got hard floors so it's just so much easier to whizz round. There's carpet in the bedroom (installed by the previous owner) but that will be going after Christmas, luckily we have the same original parquet underneath it. Never been a fan of carpet, especially with pets but if you've found a vacuum that copes then embrace it, they're few and far between.

I must admit I didn't do the Kon Mari stuff in the way I should but found a method that worked for me. The folding is now ingrained and as stuff comes off the washing line it gets folded ready to stand up in the drawers. But as for holding everything, nah! Life's too short. I just got rid of lots of stuff first and then thought about what I wanted to carry forward should I move into increasingly smaller places. I did it all before we downsized and got rid of loads (large 3 bed semi into a tiny 2 bed bungalow was a real culture shock) but there was still stuff that needed to go. It's so much easier to get rid of stuff when there's a purpose, all the time you've got the space to store it, it's easy to keep it just in case.

Hope you've got something lovely and relaxing lined up for today, I'm hoping to chop down a tree...weather permitting, I'm a fair weather tree killer.

I'm terrible with vacuum cleaners, I wear them out. The best one I've ever had is a Henry Hoover but they are so heavy and cumbersome. Fantastic suction though. I've got a Shark too which I use mostly now, had it 3 years which is very good going for me.

Glad you got to do what you wanted to yesterday :)
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • The Hoover has arrived but I have been flat out all week. I have 80 quid left and it is 6 days till Pay day.

It is tight. I need cheap lunch ideas.

Cannot wait for the weekend! Got loads to do and am looking forward to it.

Also need to move some money to pay for the hoover.......must not forget!

Hope all is well with people XX I am just off to bed in a bit shattered!

I feed both of us and 3 cats for £40 a week so I'm sure cheap lunches are entirely possible.

We have leftovers (not actually leftovers but I'll cook more so we've got some for lunch the next day), soup, I bung stuff in the slowcooker if I don't have time to stand over it whilst it cooks then blend down at the end. Rice cakes with peanut butter/chocolate spread (I like mine with peanut butter and sliced apple). A picky bowl, bits of cold meat/cheese/cold new potatoes, salads bits, pickles. Omelette with what ever needs using(can be eaten cold), mini pastry less quiches if there's a couple of slices of bacon knocking about then I'll make a batch of these up, they keep in the fridge for days and are so handy for a quick snacky lunch or add a pile of salad to make it look posher.

You need to get creative at the weekend and make the weeks lunches up.
