I personally would never buy a new build. Too poor build quality and too many snags. That's just something you have to accept with them. This doesn't mean you shouldn't put maximum pressure on the developer to put things right. You have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds you deserve to have it right.
Nothing you can do about overpaying unfortunately. This can happen new build on or not. For example my house cost £330k 7 months ago. It needed fully renovating from top to bottom. We spent over £45k doing it. There is now an identical house for sale around the corner, it has a big extension needs maybe £15k spent on it and its on for £325k so we overpaid by about £40k too... That's life.0 -
To add insult to injury the carpets, appliances, kitchen etc is all standard issue as it is the same as theirs.
That doesn't make it standard issue, they may have negotiated a higher spec too.
Does your house match the spec you were promised? That's all that's important, what they put into next doors doesn't matter.0 -

Living with such a bad decision every day seems to have lead them to become rather single-minded.0 -
I do wish people would name the builder in their OP...

Where a major reason for Persimmon potentially losing HTB is poor quality and failure to fix.0 -

General area will do, just so we can see where prices are surging ahead.0
