  • I am so annoyed that they are only doing it for one campaign. the books should look like that all the time!

Yeah but then all Avon would do is charge us more money for the books as if they were bigger would cost more to produce, plus having one bigger book means the book stands out to the customer more so hopefully means they may spend more :-)

    Hi All,
New to this thread, but not to Avon ( have been a rep for 10 years now!).This is neither a hint or a tip, but having tried asking on the Avon website in the 'wanted' section with no success I thought I'd try here: please does anyone have an unused Aquamarine Bra, size 38b, that I could purchase? I would be so grateful if you could help,
    Many Thanks, Neffy xx

Hi Neffy I don't have one I'm afraid but if you message me your email address I can post on the sales leader forum see if any one has one and tell them to email you if so? Sals leaders tend to have more excess stock than reps I find :-) x
  • Welcome bramalfie!

I have arranged to do a big pub party for charity at the end of the month. Has anyone ever done one? I have my roots in party plan, I used to do Ann Summers, but something tells me this will be a little different :p Anyone got any advice?

Might be an idea to order some of the christmas stuff from the hello tomorrow mags like the story telling santa, light up snowmen etc, these are things that some people won't buy usualy as not sure what they'll be like in real life. Also have some avon paper bags there with the most recent avon book in and a couple samples with your details inside so that anyone leaving who doesn't have a local rep may choose to order from you, that way you get money that night from the party but also increase your customer numbers :-)

Also order loads of stuff from clearance sections and hello tomorrows that you can sell on the night or raffle off so you get soe extra cash. Lipstick samples are a good idea as the colours in the book never match the real thing.

Um if think of anything else will let you know, let us know how it goes!!

If anyone does this I'd include an extra tick box saying 'only the xmas books' as you'll find some people say no as they don't want books all year but when asked they can't resist peaking at the xmas books :-)

    Hello everyone!
I started to do AVON 2 yrs ago just started with my family and friends but due to credit crunch I am thinking of going for territories but I am a bit reluctant of what to do about the tax bit. So my question is does everyone pays or declares their income from AVON? And would it affect my husbands working tax credit or anything like that at all?
    Thanks...

    Hi :-)

As far as tax credits go when I rang the tax credit peeps when I became a rep they didn't bther to list it on the tax credits as said I didn't work enough hours to matter. When I changed to doing sales leader as well it does affect our tax credits because I earn more money. I did register for tax returns etc but to be honest a lot of people don't bother I always prefer to play it safe though lol! x
  • I have just joined up as an SL and I think the pack is things that you will need to become one: sign-up packs, leaflets, notelet thingys, slips that you put on the front of expired catalogues to make them into a canvassing tool... basically the stuff that SLs can order in Hello Tomorrow. I don't officially get mine until our C15 starts (on 18th September!!!! Rage in Eden, you must be on mail plan O the same as me!) so I'm not totally sure that all the stuff my ASM gave me was the actual SL pack.

There is no official Avon group for reps. There are a few unofficial forums, most of which are not exactly lively. Some people have said the Ebay one is pretty good, altough I'm not a member so couldn't tell you about that one.

I don't think that Ebay is the ideal place to sell... prices are so deflated you'd be lucky to make any money at all! The only person I know who does it is a girl whose so desperate to make PC she doesn't care if she earns or not

Hi Peeps. I've sold some stuff on e-bay but it's generally the items that have been discontinued or the stuff that we can sometimes buy at £1 in HT. Other than that I don't see how anyone could make a profit from it. In fact e-bay as a whole is getting a tad dear.....
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

just a quick idea.. and then a question.

Firstly the idea - i see people saying there is no point using ebay - well tonight i was looking for something in particular (non avon related) and couldnt find it so ive posted on the "want it now" section of ebay... and it made me think about you guys so i typed in avon and there were a few people looking for certain things (im guessing they can no longer get) so maybe those of you who have been a rep for a while would have some the things people are looking for in any discontinued stuff etc? Would be a way of making a few pennies and decluttering some old stock if you have something one the people posting the wanted ads wants.

Now the question.. im looking to start avon on Nov 1st.. no earlier.. could anyone tell me roughly how long it took between expressing an interest on the avon site and actually your first day/i.e. the meeting signing you up? And/or would it be possible to go through the website but then tell whoever contacts me that i dont want to start till then?

Do you know who the person is Han? Speak to your ASM, they should either get the other person out of the way, or give you new territory. It isn't necessarily a huge problem - these things are usually easily sorted. There are four reasons that I know of when you'll find someone else on your patch, and none of them are as bad as someone intentionally 'stealing' territory:

    1) Lots of people I have spoken to 'caretake' unfilled territory on the reasonable assumption that someone may as well make some money from those people, but they know that they will have to bow out gracefully once that territory is assigned.

    2) I also know there are a good number of people on my own territory who order from a friend a few streets away - who am I to tell them they should order from me?!

    3) Some sales leaders don't do their jobs properly, they don't bother to get territory properly assigned. The rep then suffers when there is a conflict. If this is the case the ASM should make sure that both of you have your own properly assigned territories.

    4) It's rare, but sometimes people who change territory 'cherry pick' by keeping their best customers but giving up the actual territory. That might seem unfair, but if that rep has a personal relationship now with the customer it's understandable. Best thing to do when this happens is explain the problem to the ASM and ask for some extra roads, just as if you had any other duff streets.

Thanks for that, i didnt think that it was on purpose and i understand if certain people are already her dedicated customers as i have certain ones myself. Just didnt know what to do, didnt know if i should try and find out, or keep delivering and hope that they realise someone is doing it, or just ask for another area. It's just that this area is my road and the road opposite so is perfect for me.....! x

Don't go through the avon site!! If you do you will be signed by an area sales manager who has less time to look after you than a sales leader, sign through a sales leader they become your upliner and you get a lot more support from them! Believe me I am a sales leader who was signed by an area manager and I so wish I had an upliner! When I was a rep I would've loved to have had a sales leader too, asm's are busier so you feel more guilty for asking them 'silly' questions!

    Just my opinion though :-)
PM me for any more info or if you have any questions always happy to help :-) Stephsreps
