Hi Loopy Lou I'd imagine the age factor is that if they do a credit check on you, the younger you are the less 'good' years of credit you have behind you. My best reps are 18 and 19 though so Avon are obviously wrong in worry about younger people!x:j0 -
please can someone explain what a ssales leaders role is? Do you have to be a rep first before you can become a sales leader?
Thanks
Hi!
You can sign as a sales leader straight away but they do the job of a rep plus signing up new reps and helping to support them. Best in my view to be a rep first as else how can you train others if you haven't done it yourself? Plus you have to sell a certain amount of avon each time to qualify to be paid as a sales leader so best off getting customers and decent sized orders sorted first!
I'm a sales leader if you want any more info feel free to PM me :-) x0 -
Hi,
I've had two jobs at the same time as doing Avon and I've never paid tax on it. I think someone said a few weeks back, because its commision based you don't need to delare it unless your making something along the lines of 600 per month from Avon. But can someone confirm I actually read that on here?
You are meant to declare ANY earnings, you just don't pay tax on anything below a certain amount not sure on the limit. That's as a rep although I know many don't declare anything but each to their own risk! As a sales leader you have to declare earnings as it goes through your bank, and avon will tell the tax office you are self employed through them x0 -

I have a big pub party coming up and I am struggling to order enough and put through my customers' orders. My OH is signing up as a rep temporarily to help meand I daresay a few friends might get roped in as well, although hopefully they'll catch the bug! And I'm signing up my first new starter on Monday! :j
I submit mine on 11 September!!But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Can anyone help me?
I have been an Avon rep for 2 yrs and have just moved to a new area. 3 weeks ago I rang the Call Centre to change my address and ask the Area Manager to contact me about some new territory and I haven't heard a thing! I did ring up again this week and ask someone to contact me and still NOTHING!
I am itching to get started up again as I'm running out of things and I refuse to pay real money for them! lol.
How long do you think I should leave it, or should I just keep ringing the call centre?
Many thanks.0 -

Rachel, I'm not an SL so I don't know but I would think that you shouldn't have to pay for your leads, perhaps if you were desperate but I would suggest you leave that as a last resort. Hayley11 seemed to be very good at getting leads, I think she signed up like 5 people in a matter of weeks, or it may have been more - she seemed to do very well, maybe she can give you some advice.
Can someone clear something up for me: all over this thread people are saying that you make 20% commission on orders over £75 and 25% over £144 HOWEVER, in my avon pack that was given to me on joining, in the terms and conditions it says 24% over £75 and 30% over £144, and even better than that my SL said you get 30% off all avon products and a fixed discount off other products and it averages to around 24%, is that right because everyone always says 20%?
In hello tomorrow most of the discounts are 30% off, is that only in hello tomorrow or is that the discount when you order online too?
I'm very confused, especially because in hello tomorrow there are discount from about 15% up to 58% so it is varied and I can't get my head around it.
Thanks

Hi Kat
The only difference between the quoted discount rates is VAT.
We earn commission of 30% of a product BEFORE vat, which equals 25% of the retail prices once the vat has been taken off.
Obviously we cant earn commission on VAT, so its easier to work out that we earn 20% or 25% of the order value.

Hi, Ive been reading this thread for ages now and think its really full of great info! I started out as an avon rep in Camp. 10 and am now just starting camp .15. I'm amazed as I'm doing really well! I have about 75 customers and am still canvassing for more. So far my orders have all been over £500. I am going to look into SL at the end of this month - can anyone tell me what you get in the SL business pack??
Much as i think this forum is great Im really suprised that there is no Avon UK group for reps.... is there one i dont know about???
Sorry to ask loads of qu's in my first post! I'm sure i'll be able to start answering some soon :-) Pippa
I also wanted to ask, those of you who sell avon stuff on ebay, do you make any money??! I was thinking of listing some items but it seems to me that the majority of stuff seems to sell well below the RRP. Is this the case or do any of you make any money doing this?? If so what sort of thing sells well??
Anyone???!!!0
