Avon - Hints and Tips?

Not sure - I thought it was a bit strange when I was told, because what about if you do Ebay or Car boot sales as well. I think any money that you earn comes in really handy when you are on Maternity Leave...
Since people are unsure I went on the DWP website and I can confirm that is says self-employment during maternity leave will not stop your SMP payments, but employment with another employer will, so Avon, being self employment is fine!

Yes lou, I plan to do just that! I am not going to risk having to pay out of my own pocket as we are short of cash right now. Although we are all assuming I actually get £200 worth of orders, knowing my luck I won't even come anywhere near it!
Thanks for the info re: account number, I guess I will wait another few days before chasing my SL.

Hello everyone!
I started to do AVON 2 yrs ago just started with my family and friends but due to credit crunch I am thinking of going for territories but I am a bit reluctant of what to do about the tax bit. So my question is does everyone pays or declares their income from AVON? And would it affect my husbands working tax credit or anything like that at all?
Thanks...0 -

22.5cm X 19cm
They fit ok in my normal "cheap" plastic bags from the pound shop.
Apparantly it is just for one campaign, so don't go spending extra money on larger bags unless you have to.
Everyone seems sooo ahead; I have just submitted C14 and getting delivery on 15th September; with that order I ordered C15 & 16 Brochures! It will be a month or 2 before I have to submit C17!?
Look forward to seeing them though, they sound fab! xx0 -
just wanted to add about the maternity thing if your in reciept of maternity allowence i have been told you cant work more than 10 days without it affecting your money.... even working an hour or so counts as a day and you have to inform the benefits office.
I know this cos thats what im on as my job pre-maternity leave was only temp so i couldnt get SMP. I enquired about starting avon now but thought it wasnt worth the messing about informing them personally so will wait till it stops.
So i think it all epend what type of maternity pay your on. Found this on the DWP website:I do some work for an employer or as a self employed person before the end of my Maternity Allowance period?
You will lose MA for the days you work.
You will be able to work for your employer or as a self employed person for up to 10 days without losing any Maternity Allowance. These days are called Keeping in Touch days (KIT). If you work more than 10 days you will lose Maternity Allowance for the days that you have worked. You must tell Incapacity Benefits Branch about any work you do.0 -

Hi all!!
I'm an avon sales leader and just noticed few of you posting about credit limits, bestt hing to do is to get your sales leader or area manager which ever signed you, to phone up and find out what your credit limit is before your first order or if you already have done orders but want to know just incase then ask them to call :-)

HAHA I havent even submitted C14 yet :P
I don't submit C14 for a few weeks yet! My area is the last in the entire country! There is ZERO point in my people ordering clearance!!!
I have a big pub party coming up and I am struggling to order enough and put through my customers' orders. My OH is signing up as a rep temporarily to help meand I daresay a few friends might get roped in as well, although hopefully they'll catch the bug! And I'm signing up my first new starter on Monday! :j
