Well my credit rating is pretty apauling
I had orders totalling £504 and then someone from Avon rings me to say that I only was allowed £200 worth of stuff (credit limit of £200) so i had to find the other £204 upfront!
Not best pleased,
So yes you do have to pay upfront otherwise you dont get your stuff on delivery day! The other option was to cancel my £504 order and only order £200 worth of stuff! Well i told my customers delivery date and that there products would be with them! If i hadnt paid that money up front i would of been messing my customers around!?

Louise, that does sometimes happen, as I said above. I just mentioned that sometimes the £200 limit doesn't seem to apply. I don't know why
. That's why I also listed a couple of alternative solutions to the problem! I know you are annoyed that you've had to pay some upfront but that doesn't make my comment any less relevent!
Also welcome Sharlene  I wonder how different Avon is in Australia to the UK? Could be fun finding out! One thing I do know is that if you don't place an order for three campaigns in the UK your account is closed, let alone three years! So... you'll have seen on this thread how we do things over here... have you got any great Aussie tips for us that would work over here?0 -
I did C15 & 16 together when I started this time last year, and got around £400 of orders. However, Avon rang me and said that it was over my credit limit but on this occasion they'd let it go........result!!!! Perhaps it's an age thing (I'm 64), but then surely Avon wouldn't be ageist..............would they? ;-p
If you can just get around the first order, there is no problem after that. At least if you are aware of it you can work around it; perhaps limiting yourself to £200 of orders for your first campaign. It might be worth ringing customer services when you get to the £200 mark and saying that you'd like to get more orders but can't because of the credit limit. They might balk at losing orders????'Better to ask a silly question than to make a silly mistake' Elliebee's Mum

I tried that line on my ASM when I knew I'd be over mine... that's how I learnt sneaky ways around itIt does seem counterproductive, but so many people do do a runner on their first campaign - if nobody had these limits on their first order, they'd probably have to raise the price of every single item in the book. Or worse, start charging people £75+ startup fees like so many similar businesses. I used to be a UO for Ann Summers, and roughly one in six of my new sign ups ran off with stock, or customer's money, or both. It's never nice having to sort that mess out, and even less nice to get some nasty peice of work six months down the line threatening to kill you for 'setting' the bailiffs on them.

Elliebee; Avon did rudely say that me being only 19 years old may of had something to do with the credit limit. I have paid the money up front now to save any dealy on my order; I just felt that Avon was messing me around and the fact that I would be then messing my customers around!?
Anyway I am on my first campaigne; delivery is due on the 15th; things can only get better :T

Silvercharming! I did not mean to cause offence! Avon did rudely say that me being only 19 years old may of had something to do with the credit limit. I think I'll put one in the kitchen, and email them all and let them know offers etc, maybe do an e-version of my newsletterr (thanks for the tip on that one).
Can I just ask another question, for those of you who have bought a stamp for your forms, what size should it be to fit properly, and also, I noticed some people saying the books are bigger now, so what size bags should I get?
Hi Vicki,
My SL said that only campaign 17 was going to be a bigger than usual, they won't carry on being bigger after that, so you will only need enough bigger bags for that one campaign. I am sure as soon as someone has the dimensions they will let us know. My SL only has C15 and C16 at the moment so not sure how big it will be.

Thanks for your reply Kat ... but LittleOne's question is what I meant ... I'm also worried that I'd have to pay for the orders upfront.
Sorry, I see what you mean now. Well I have the same problem, I actually have a CCJ now so whatever my credit limit is (I will let you know as soon as I know) I am sure yours won't be lower. My intention is to canvass about half of my territory and play it by ear, if I receive lots of orders then I will stop at around £150-£200 mark, but if I don't receive many I will canvass the whole area. Since we know we may have a credit limit just bare that in mind and try not to go over it.
How long before we receive our account number to log in online? I have been waiting 4 days, not sure how long, I would like to get used to the online ordering.

Can anyone confirm what the rules are regarding earning money during maternity leave? My best friend is on maternity leave and would like to earn some extra money, but heard that you are not supposed to earn any money on maternity, does anyone know if you can, and has anyone done that?
Thanks
