Avon - Hints and Tips?

Just saw the post by kat about the do not deliver as we do not sell. When I started delivering the books I knocked on all doors and believe it or not my best customers are from these people who have these stickers on their doors. My thought when I started was to avoid these houses, but I did find that the majority of these people were actually interested in looking at the Avon books. The owners of these houses are usually older and do not like the local papers etc, but do buy from us.
Long essay I know but hopefully it will reassure you.
I have noticed that too, most just use them stickers to try and stop people like gas companys trying to get them to switch.
I had some one around other dat who made me really angry. He was from N power trying to get me to swap from my current provider and when I said that I wasent interested he STUCK HIS FOOT IN THE DOOR so I couldnt close it   I mean, how rude is that, I would never do that to somebody if I was trying to sell Avon to them :mad:Proud to be dealing with my debts

That's crazy rude Mikiki, and a bit scarey! You should have reported him!
Question: I was looking through Hello Tomorrow, just working out the discounts and stuff, FYI if you do the bond girl money maker it works out to a 38% profit, rather than the normal 30%, plus they don't take the money for 6 weeks so have 6 weeks to sell it, and if I don't sell them I will send them back.
Anyway, my question, I was looking at the cosmopolitan set, which looks really nice and it says demo price is £16.60 and it says the intro brochure price will be £20, normal price £40. So our earnings are fixed at £3.40 if we sell it at £20, which is 17% profit....BUT what I want to know from anyone doing avon more than a few months is, do they ever revert back to full price once they have been at this introductory price? Because if they do, in say 2 months go to full price, then that is a whopping 58.5% markup when they are sold at full price of £40. So I guess my question is whether it is worth buying one or two now, hoping that the price will go up soon and I can sell it at the higher price? Any thoughts?
Plus this is not the only one in the HT magazine so I might be able to do this with a few of the other offers too. Just trying to think of ways of maximising income.
Thanks

I signed up this week, and it has taken me all week to get through this thread!!!
My SL is coming to see me on Tuesday, so i think I've missed this campaign as it would just give me 3 days to get orders in!
I'm a bit worried by the credit limit thing, is £200 the lowest limit people on here have had, as I wouldn't be able to pay upfront.
Also, do you need to ask permission to put books round your work? I was planning to email the girls and tell them I have the brochure if they'd like a look, I've only been in the job 3 months! Has anyone else tried that and got orders?0 -
Vickisaver, I know of one person who had a £150 limit. I think £200 is about standard. My first order was over that, I was expecting to have to pay some upfront, but it went through without any problem
I really do think it depends, but I don't know what on!
Mikiki, I think it takes quite a bit of time to build sales leadership up to earn a full-time wage from it. Because the SL pack costs £25, they suggest you get two people ready to sign up before you actually become an SL, then you get your £30 bonus so you are up £5 net. Does that make any sense?0 -
My boss orders from me so she is ok about me giving out books as long as im not distracting people, i get a lot of orders from work.
The start of C15 is looking good, this time i put a newsletter in all of the brochures highlighting the best offers and also offering a 10% discount if they recommend a friend who places an order with me for 5 or more and its working.
Im hoping this campaign is gonna be a good un as ive had two slow ones now0 -
Thanks for the replies, I'm really excited about doing it, just wish I was seeing my SL sooner!! My office quite female dominated, although the bosses are male. I think I'll put one in the kitchen, and email them all and let them know offers etc, maybe do an e-version of my newsletterr (thanks for the tip on that one).
Can I just ask another question, for those of you who have bought a stamp for your forms, what size should it be to fit properly, and also, I noticed some people saying the books are bigger now, so what size bags should I get?0 -
wow, it's taken me all week to read (I'm a temp at the mo and I'm working somewhere where I have lots of time on my hands ha)! But I am def going to sign up after reading this!
Wierdly enough I got approached a few weeks ago by a guy when I was walking home from work asking if I wanted to be a rep but I just took a brochure from him and wandered off as I thought it was a bit odd for him to just come up to me and try to sign me up!!
Anyway, I just wondered if any of you are SL's in the North London area, and if it would make things easier/help you, could I sign up through you?
Jo£10 extra a day in June challenge - £300  / £10 extra a day in July challenge - £150 / £10 extra a day in August - £325 (helped by giving up smoking :A ) /A Payment a day challenge (starting 1 Sept...)0 -

Hi guys can anyone help ????
Many years ago my wife was an Avon rep and since then we have always used the products. No that the kids have flown the nest and I seem to have time on my hands I was thinking of becoming a SL not only for something to do but also to get the products for our own use at a reduced rate. Can anyone tell me if there are any male reps/SL's and are they successfull. Would be great if any men that are doing this could contact me.
Looking forward to hearing from you.0 -

Oh I might put one in the ladies - I don't trust the kitchen (stuff walks - but then it does in the ladies as well - who would want to nick an air freshner???:rotfl: )
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0
