Avon - Hints and Tips?

I don't know, my Sales Leader was the one that I rang from the local newspaper advert, she's usually local. Well the three that I have met were local, the new one just sends a bulk email when the orders are due.
I thought somehow sale Leaders were getting a cut of your order as well, am I wrong? So really it would be in their interest to push up the sales wouldn't it?
Just makes me think about when we tried Kleeneze a few years ago. The bloke was on the phone every couple of days (usually just when you've dished out dinner) and talk for ages blah blah blah... it's seems it's constant or never, can there just be a right middle so that managers show a bit of interest without actually moving into your life?0 -
They do (ASM's too) - only a small % but only if sales over a certain amount and they have to sell X amount too. It isn't taken from your sales/profit as such but Avon base it on how much you sell iyswim.
Yes I agree - it is in their favour to support you - so surely they should do a regular newsletter or meet-up etc for those who want etc etc etc... and yes there are SL's leaders out there who do do this.. just a few give them all a bad name0 -
im not a rep.... yet.... but have been thinking about the male market for when i hopefully am... i dont know if it would work but i thought about doing a special canvassing (using my old books) offering 10% off on all the mens products with a little flyer saying "AVON... not JUST for the girls...." and maybe somehow playing up the fact they can shop from their armchair and not have to venture the shops.. we all know most men hate shopping!
Also possibly use christmas or valentines day oppurtunity to encourage perfume etc sales... again using the comfort of your own home angle?
Like i say im not a rep so dont know if it would work but just thought id share my ideas0 -
Ah well, i seem to be managing fine on my own :j without any help from Avon's people!?
Loving it!!
First campaigne and got £500 worth of orders so all good, the only downfall is that I had to pay 1/2 of the money up front! :mad:
Anyway ideas for people what I have done myself and live in a small town in Wales;
I handed out books to;
Family
Family memebers friends
Own Friends
Work Colleagues
Ex work Colleagues
Maternity Ward
Hair dressers
Beauty Salon
:T
I advertised myself as being an Avon rep and giving FREE brochures on;
Workplace Intranet ads (employees can access only)
On here
Poster in workplace
Poster in maternity ward
:T
Next time to gain more customers I am going to;
Put poster up in local supermarket and anywhere else I can think of
Possibly putting posters through house doors (although my area is apparently covered by other reps)
Maybe going to local nurseries, parent and toddler groups and schools (however I do not have any children so dont want to look a wierdo)
:T
If anyone could give me any other ideas
Hope this helps everyone, Lou xxxxxxxxxx0 -
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all getting lots of sales with these lovely pink brochures!
I have just received my territory, 109 houses, about 15 mins walk from my house so not too bad, wish they were nearer though.
I was a bit concerned though when looking at their post codes on 'up my street' to see that both areas are very low income on the neighbourhood profile, do you think people will still buy? Guess I will just give it a go.
Question: If I submitted an order early would my items be delivered early or would they still arrive on the delivery date I was given.
For example my c15 last order date is 23/9 and delivery date is 29/9. So if I place the order one week early will it arrive one week early or is that a set date?
Thanks
Kat x
p.s thanks to this street I will make sure I don't go over £200 for my first order, not that I think I will get anywhere near that, but if I do get lucky like a lot of you, I will just stop giving out brochures when I am near that limit as I don't want what happened to louise to happen to me. This is a good thread!!!My darling boy born December 20110 -

kate, the delivery date stays the same no matter how early you place the order! The date is set unfortunatly!
See my post above Kate, you may be better off going through friends, family, local business' aswell as the streets you have been given!
Give it a go! What have you got to loose?

Hi Kat,
No matter when you place your order it will always come on the delivery date stated on the website. i always wait till the last day just in case i get any last minute orders from people.0 -

That is terrible. Poor lady.
I am only in contact with my SL when I phone her and again she is never really helpful. She said she would call me back and never did so I had to do all the chasing. I feel a bit miffed about Avon at the moment as everyone on here seems to be doing incredibly well. I have 25 regular customers from a base of 250 houses. Only 85 of them are actually interested in looking. A couple of them ordered this time for the first time after 6 months of me putting the book through the door, but on the other hand a couple of them also told me not to put the book through as they never order from Avon. Six months and they then tell me - come on I know it will save time in future but why does it take these people so long!!!!!
I have never been contacted by my SL to tell me how well I am doing/not doing. It wouldn't hurt to have a phone call once every couple of months would it?
When I got a chance to do the main road I live on I did little forms asking people to tick the box saying whether they wanted an avon book or not. Not one person was capable of picking up a pen and ticking a box. Now, I know that there's a lot of the telly about literacy but really......But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0
