I put an opt out box on there so if they dont want it they tick it, that way if there is nothing on there i keep giving them a book, it doesnt bother me cos i buy loadsa books anyway cos its cheaper, and then if i actually manage to speak to them if they forget to put a book outside and they moan about recieving them i point it out and tell them that i wouldnt have put them through if they had ticked the box.
normally shuts them up and ive even had a couple of people put an order in - through guilt i expect but hey ho if it makes me money it cant be bad!0 -
what do sales leaders have to do? im trying to work out if its pheasable to do both or if i should just stick to repping. can anyone offer me any advice?0

hi gemia
i will try to answer your question for you.
sales leaders are supposed to recruit, train, and mentor a group of rep's, and act as the "go-between" with the ASM.
the ASM's have hundreds of reps in their area, and it would be impossible for them to stay in contact with every rep, so the sales leader would be first point of contact for reps.
sales leaders SHOULD stay in regular contact with their team and offer advise or support when needed.
they are supposed to pass downline any information from head office or asm's and some hold team meetings, social events etc.
sadly though some sales leaders sign up a new recruit and are never seen again!

Its worth reading through 97 pages!!Get loads of tips and ideas x
Louise and Little one - I also applied after reading this thread! It's a shame the people who contribute to this thread don't get some kind of reward for all the people they are bringing to Avon!
Thanks for you advice Louise, I am about to deliver 15 of the 20 brochures to the road now, and the other 5 reserved for other people.

I just got back from delivering my 15 brochures. About 7 of the houses I went past had those police stickers that says 'no junk mail we don't buy or sell from this door' - shame! Don't think this road is going to be very avon friendly, but then you never know

Hi all
Well, I just became a trainee sales leader. Still not sure how it happened! I was at our area meeting, and nobody else was there, so my ASM and I were chatting... :rotfl: I think it was just because we were bored!
I got some new roads too! woohoo! Now all I have to do is get a zillion sign ups, a zillion new orders, and the money off people who've already ordered.Sounds like a simple enough plan, eh?
Also welcome all the newbies!
Katchambers, I knocked on the doors that had those stickers and politely told them I'd seen their signs but was just checking that they didn't want a book. All of them bar one felt that this didn't apply to Avon and they wanted the books! The other one, I just apologised and said I'd not bother her again. When I went to collect the books, she came out and asked for one after all  So it is worth asking nicely.0 -
Just saw the post by kat about the do not deliver as we do not sell. When I started delivering the books I knocked on all doors and believe it or not my best customers are from these people who have these stickers on their doors. My thought when I started was to avoid these houses, but I did find that the majority of these people were actually interested in looking at the Avon books. The owners of these houses are usually older and do not like the local papers etc, but do buy from us.
Long essay I know but hopefully it will reassure you.0 -

I want to be a sales leader I think, but can I do it around my job to start with? Because I don't want to only be coming out with £400 a month and nothing else! Once I get a good base going, then I can do it full time, do you think thats possible?Proud to be dealing with my debts
