Avon - Hints and Tips?

Ian, there are lots of male reps and some of these are highly successful! There are two 'tiers' of Avon: Being a rep means you just take the catalogues out and earn commission on orders (and get a discount for yourself
), being a sales leader you actively recruit new reps, once you have at least five you earn a commission on their business (5%-12%).

Hi
I'm interested in becoming an Avon rep but worried about having to pay money upfront for the order as we don't have any spare money ... hence the reason I want to become an Avon rep.
Does everyone have to pay upfront?

Hi Melvis - welcome!
The beauty of avon is you have very little to pay up front. You drop the brochures, then collect them, place the orders online with avon, they then dispatch the goods on the date they say and you then deliver to your customers and collect your money. You have 10 days from receiving the goods to pay, so you have 10 days to collect the money from your customers, therefore you don't have to pay anything up front.
Even the £15 avon fee is split over 2 campaigns and taken out of your commission so no money needs to be paid, it's very good for my situation!

What if your orders come to more than your credit limit on your 1st camapaign but cant find the money to make the difference? This is something I'm worried about.
Also what if your credit rating is really really bad?!Trying to remain debt free!

Thanks for your reply Kat ... but LittleOne's question is what I meant ... I'm also worried that I'd have to pay for the orders upfront.Small business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0

Well, my credit rating is pretty appaling, as I'm still paying for past mistakes (not literally - it's all paid off - but you know what I mean).
There is no credit 'rating' when you join as a rep, only credit 'scoring', i.e. they look at your info, but not your credit file itself. They do record data on how you manage your account on your credit file.
There is an actual credit 'rating' if you want to become a sales leader, but if I got in it can't be that rigarous!
Aside from that, as I said before there is usually a limit of about £200 on your first order. My advice would be to cross that bridge when you come to it - my first order was way over £200 but they still released it with no intervention on my part or that of my area manager. If all else fails, get a partner or friend to sign up for one campaign and put part of the order through in their name; I'm not sure you're supposed to do it, but lots of people do get around it that way.Or, if a lot of your orders are from friends and family, ask them if they could pay upfront as a one-off to help you 'get your business off the ground'. If you put it like that, they'll help you all they can!0 -
I think I'll brave it then
I'm going on holiday for 4 days on the 22nd, does that matter? Should I wait til I get back?

Melvis, it depends on when your order days and campaigns are. So long as your order or delivery day isn't while you're away, I would say join ASAP and have your catalogues out there while your away. If you want to PM me your postcode I can find out who your area manager is and when your order day is, and ask them to get in touch with you?0

Hi
My name is Sharlene and I live in Australia.........I am soo glad I found this thread and forum. I am now on C15 and have about $140 worth of sales. I am doing FF and I have a over 55 complex that has about 90 homes. I was a Rep a few years ago but had no support at all. I met this lovely lady that I knew some years ago and found out that she was a SL so I tried to sign up under her. But Avon still had my details and account number still current (after 3 years of not selling) so I cant be on her team. This SL is very lovely and will do anything to help her team get to thier goals. So I think I will have to resign up under my mum then go into her team.Has anyone else had any of these problems? My old STR signed me up but never rang me or followed up to see if I was doing ok ............
So much info on here so well done...... Cant wait till chrissy I have alot of customers wanting to order all of the chrissy presents thru me. I also went to my Dr surgery and asked if I could leave a brouchure and the lady said umm not really as another lass sells Nutrimetics.......So I said ok no worries. Then she asked me if we still sold Imari and I said yes..........So I left 2 books have so far 2 orders and going back on Monday to see if there are any more......
GL for this campain..........If I hit $200 I will be very happy
Sorry for rambiling0
