do you mean like if you get a beauty bonus or something thats in its own bag? Ive never recieved items that are not in the cardboard boxes... im confused

yeash thats exactly what i mean - wierd then that you arent getting the right amount!! do you get nothing at all that doenst come in a box? i dont know then sorry!

I have had a customer ask if Avon are still selling, 'Feet Strips' Apparently they were strips to cool the bottom of your feet, they came in a box and where green, maybe seaweed? Thanks Lou Lou xx

Ah-ha you meant the Planet Spa Detoxing Foot patches - I liked them but alas I have not seen them in the brochures for some time and a search on the website yields nothing. I don't remember seeing them being marked as "discontinued" in HT - as I would have bought a load for myself if I had......

Thanks Rage in Eden! :beer: I have left a message on my managers phone but had no reply!? I am on my first campaigne C14 and loving Avon , cant wait untill the products arrive!

Its a shame that I cant seem to place the Planet Spa Detoxing Foot patches!? My customer would love to have them!! i Hope my mananger replies to my message or maybe it would be worth giving the Avon main line a call!? Im not sure!?

If anyone else knows why the patches arent in the brochures, where they are or how to get them!? Please let me know thanks LOU XXXXX :j

any beauty bonuses of gift sets are always in the boxes with the other stuff - i have never had an order with missing items (unless they are out of stock) so yeah it is a bit weird.. ill see how my delivery looks tomorro... I cant wait!!

Maybe this is why the Planet Spa Detoxing Foot patches are no longer available; I thought I would Google the item to see what I could find

An ad in the Avon catalogue, for detox patches, read "PLANET SPA ... take the spa experience home. detox the easy way". A box below contained text that stated "' ... Think that to detoxify and get glowing skin you need to spend hours in the bathroom and glug gallons of water? Think again. Avon's Dead Sea Detox Patches work while you sleep! When you wake up in the morning you'll have healthy revitalised skin.'" Text continued "How? Toxins are carried around the body in your blood and lymphatic fluids. These clever patches 'catch' the toxins at their furthest point from your heart - your feet. This prevents toxins being pumped back into your system. Purifying your body in this way means big benefits for your skin and your wellbeing in general ... Step 1 place a detoxifying patch under each foot. Step 2 get a good night's sleep: keep patches on for up to 12 hours. Step 3 yuck! remove the patches in the morning - along with all those nasty toxins." The ad also featured a picture of a woman's foot with a used detox patch partially peeled back to show the "toxins", a dark area on the patch, that had been removed from her body. Text along the arch of the foot read "clever patches help remove toxins".

Issue
The complainant challenged the efficacy of the product.

Response
Avon Cosmetics Ltd (Avon) said the detox patches were manufactured by a third party. They submitted information about the detoxifying properties of the product's ingredients - dead sea salt, wood vinegar and green tea - that they believed supported the claims in their brochure.

They assured the ASA that the ad would not appear again in its current form.

Assessment
Upheld
The ASA noted the ingredient information submitted by Avon in support of the efficacy of the foot patches.

While we noted their belief that the patches contained ingredients that had detoxifying properties, we were concerned that Avon had not supplied evidence to support the claim that the patches aided detoxification, nor had they supplied evidence to show that the ingredients were present in sufficient quantities to achieve the claimed effects. We therefore concluded the ad was misleading.

The ad breached CAP Code clauses 3.1 (Substantiation), 7.1 (Truthfulness) and 50.1 (Health and beauty products and therapies - General).

Action
We told Avon to consult the CAP Copy Advice team for guidance with future ads.

Mikiki, Planet Spa Detoxing Foot- the patches they seem a very popular product! I have now had a second customer ask me about them!! Not sure what to do, I shall keep calling my area manager hopefully she can tell me why they are not in the brochures anymore Lou xx

YAY! just got this reply from Avon re: the bottle of perfume and free beauty bag:

On checking your Campaign 13 invoice, we can confirm that the U by Ungaro EDP and Beauty Bonus Bag has been supplied free of charge, therefore, you will not be charged for this item in your next campaign order.

guess I better test it out! lol!
