When does it start getting busy for Christmas? I do not know which brochure usually starts showing Christmas items. Scary it is only July and we are already talking about Christmas!!

I don't know either as it'll be my first Christmas, but I would imagine it's like any other "shop" and that people start buying gift sets and things around October time.

When I spoke to my AM the other week about the territory problems I've had, she bought it up in conversation then and said that there's usually a bit of an increase in sales between September and November.

I hope it does pick up before Christmas as it will come in handy for presents. I have a little one whose birthday is end of November and my husbands birthday is 28th December. Yikes - expense again.

I am just really surprised that I don't have much help from anyone within Avon. This thread is great as it really helps me know that there are people who are willing to help each other.

Anyone else notice that the commisson you earn never adds up when you get the cash in ?

I went though the orders and invoice and we have been charged £16 too much, item numbers seem to have changed on the invoice too to what i ordered.

Yes I have noticed the numbers on the invoice not matching the customer orders. Not sure why that happens.

Have not noticed about the commission yet though I will look next time. I thought it had something to do with the stuff that I have ordered.

How are everyones orders doing? I just hope it picks up again, though I do wonder about one of my previous posts re Christmas stuff not being delivered. It seems really unfair that some people can order before others. I think I am in the second run.

It did surprise me when they could not deliver the Anew item I had ordered.

There were a couple of biggies when we checked, Foundation & lipstick should have been 2 for £8, i was charged £12 for foundation and £8 for lipstick thats £12 overcharge !

I really need to check every invoice now against the order forms
  • ALWAYS check your invoice to make sure everything is ok and if it's not, I've found that generally Avon are awfully nice and helpful :)

I used to do Avon for about 3 years and it was great, I'd love to do it again at my student halls but I reckon it would be a bit risky.

Sounds like a computer response - so bad of Avon. It seems that they just support the PCs and let us lowly reps suffer.

Hate to tell you this but us PC reps get treated exactly the same way with 'drop down box' style replies! Very annoying.

I was concerned about those deals to begin with but fortunately haven't been overcharged by anything to complain about (yet). They always round up though I noticed - so strictly speaking they don't actually pay us 25% commission, more like 24%.

Oohhh, do you know what else I've noticed that's really sneaky? You know how we get "hugely discounted" products in the HT clearance sections? Have you noticed that the stuff is actually cheaper in the customer sale brochures?! If something is £1 in HT then £1.25 in the sale brochure - well that's actually 94p to us. It's really sneaky and preys on stupid reps imo. I suppose I should just be grateful I'm not a stupid rep? Lol.

But regarding invoices, I check every single one. I run a spreadsheet with formula so by inputting order totals and HT, brochure totals etc it works out the commission I should get. So when the invoice comes, I expect my total to match theirs. I don't go through it all properly unless the descrepancy is more than £1 (they always charge me close to that more than I think I should pay though!). I can keep track of who's spent what with me in the same place this way.
