That's definately not good news especially as I was told by a friend whose AM had told her in June that the call centre was moving to India and wanted to check that her current dealings with Avon were OK as most of the staff had been made redundant and so weren't really bothered anymore.

That's going to be great fun when we're missing an item or trying to explain a query..

An update on the sample front....

Well I ordered all these perfume samples and spend ages designing and placing a flyer bascially saying if you like this perfume e.g coco chanel why not try this Avon fragrance etc etc then at the bottom I stated that I had all the above fragrances available to sample - just ask... And out of 50 books not one enquiry!!
OK so different approach now, I have been through all my customers and everyone I thought might buy a fragrance, I have sellotaped a sample to their order form (thank you OP who suggested it!). So now I have put out about 20 books with samples attached, I let you know how I get on.

I thought long and hard about the raffle thing because I realised that I could lose myself a customer if I gave someone a load of useful products.

So this month's raffle involves useless ones they wouldn't order anyway :rotfl:

The whole thing cost me £11.92 including gift wrapping and is worth £42. I can't list the contents as you never know who's reading this but think clearance items like face masks and feet stuff as well as a bottle of wine and some choccies.

I figured that it looks lovely to open and maybe someone will happily spend an evening trying all the bits out. But they're not products most on my round would usually order so I've not lost myself a customer and might even gain extra custom from it in the future for similar products.

I won't really make any profit out of it but I only need a normal amount of orders to pay for it so I've lost nothing but will hopefully gain interest. I see it as more of a way to interact with customers than to make short-term gain iykwim.

For my prospective new customers I've offered "spend £8 and get a free bath and body product worth at least £2 free". I'm really annoyed that the Surreal Body Washes were out of stock now - humph. But I can order up a load of Naturals ones for 75p each so that still leaves me a profit on £8 orders of £1.25 doesn't it? And a new customer!

I think the most important thing about deals is that they're offered up on a plate and the customer doesn't have to work for them. I think selling raffle tickets is asking for too much trust unless you've been a rep for years. If you get a free entry through buying products you're going to use anyway then it's like you've lost nothing I think.

That's my tuppence on prize draws and raffles anyways! Makes sense to me

Sounds good to me - I have decided to do spend £X and receive a free gift and then a hamper at Christmas. I have all the bits already so no problems there and I am going to give away free tickets for every £5 spent between Campaigns 14-17.

I know - I was well narked about the Surreal body washes. Why do they do this? Why do they put stuff in the clearance and then go "oops ain't got any"? I might try the raffle for Christmas - lord knows I've ordered enough clearance stuff..... Tired Mum - you made me laugh about the perfumes - we've all done that - invested time and effort and got nada. Last year I got a load of naturals stuff and sent a flayer 'round saying I was providing gift sets of eevrything in a particular fragrance, say the Vanilla and Soy Milk. I priced them competitively (I think I said £8) and bought a load of gift bags so they could have a complete gift for somebody..... Me and Mr Rage are curently using the stuff up..... If I had an Avon rep who did that I'd jump at it - saves me a lot of hassle getting presents for people.
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    Hi All,

I decided that I would do my raffle over two campagins for if every £5 spent they get a ticket.

I thought I would do it over two campaigns as alot of my customers are on holiday at the moment and I don't want them to miss out :)

i wish i'd thought of doing it over 2 campaigns, i might have made a bit of commision rather than spending it all in one go on the raffle prizes oops.
i think i might skip any deals next campaign and just do a straight sell

Oh right, so you didn't get any Surreals either? I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact they were selling them for £1.25 each, or 94p to us, in the sale 11 brochure? Naturally they allocated their stock to the highest bidder I bet!

Lol at the gift bags. If it wasn't for this thread - I'd have soooo done half of this stuff by now. Fortunately I read this thread before I signed up!!
  • Hi All,

I havent written in a while cos ive been feeling a bit avon demotivated :(
I think half the job is just getting back out there. I think i just feel like i spend my time chasing people for money and books and orders but this is the nature of the beast! My order comes again tomorrow and this always perks me up!!
Re offers. I have found that people dont take enough notice of them so i just let avon sell itself now. Im collecting sets out of HT though so im stocking up for xmas and friends birthdays but generally i think i do enough for my customers, trekking round after them all the bloomin' time! hahaha
The best part of the whole thing for me is when you get peoples orders and then you can back order and claim a freebie for yourself or whatever the offer may have been. Its sad but it makes my day! hehe xx
:happylove If you do what you've always done, you'll get where you've always got! :heartpuls

What a freebie without your customers noticing - how awful - I never do that  :rotfl:
