Avon - Hints and Tips?

Well, I had an awkward thing happen the other day. I had canvassed a new area and received an order for Anew Night Cream plus the beauty bonus bag. Considering the Anew stuff is Avon's baby there was no cream delivered, placing me in an embarrassing situation.

I totally agree with the comments about the samples as my top seller is the Room Spray, with Skin So Soft, Footworks and Bubble Baths. When I bought the Bumper Pack and samples I thought that these items would be included, but no luck. I think our customer should have the choice given to them as to the samples they are allowed.

I have sold some perfumes but not the Lacroix specials. Has anyone else had phone calls from Avon offering them the Top Seller packs? What a waste of money.

I also had a lot of barely there samples only to find out that these are being replaced in C14.

Oh well rant over - it is lovely to have this forum as we can all help each other.

I ordered the CL Rouge money maker last xmas when it was in the HT and got stuck with it. A couple of books ago I was so excited when a customer ordered a bottle, only to realise I still couldnt shift it! I had to order more as it came with a free scarf!

Ive given my mam and MIL a bottle, got one myself and tbh the smell lasts for no more than 1/2 an hour. As do all of the avon perfumes I have tried. A lot of my customers say the same. Still if it lasted it would be £30-£50 like th high street.

My best sellers are SSS, footworks, make up and all other bath/shower products. Perfume and jewelry are quite a low part of my order.

We always seem to sell alot of Anew items, last oder just gone we has 6 Anew items sold.

I kept getting 'phone calls from Avon trying to flog me the sample packs and also the save and sell ones. I've now told them not to bother as I can't shift them. Y'know I'm glad it's not just me who can't shift this stuff - I was beginning to think I was the world's worst Avon rep.:D Maybe people are getting more selective - I remember my Mum's avon rep always having lots of those beer steins and perfume decanters in her order bag - and what about pretty peach - that was HUGE! I think I've still got some of that. Last thing they did like that which really sold for me was the star shaped glass perfume decanters about 5 (?) years ago - I've still got one actually in Soft Musk or is it Timeless - I liked that perfume......oh dear, I've firmly retreated to the 70s....:rotfl:

right there with you! I used to do the deals with the perfumes and the fancy creams, utter disaster. My sister did Avon when I was younger and she had all sorts of perfume to sell, not me! I have returned practically everything apart from some cellulite cream I used.

having said that i just ordered some demo perfumes, that I liked, to show people.

I was late with my order this weekendbut at least I am a bit more in control now and will give out my books next saturday.

Is it possible to ask avon for samples of these bestsellers that we have instead of their Anew range?

By the way, has anyone done Avon over Christmas before? I spoke to one of my customers who told me that she was a rep last year. She received lots of orders which was great, but she gave a word of advice. "Watch out for the freebies at Christmas time as they were not delivered" to her. She ended up having to go to her customers and say that they were not available and would not be before Christmas. Apparently this was so close to Christmas that she felt really guilty and gave up. There was no time for her customers to get to the shops to buy alternative goods.

She did say, however, that these items can be ordered beforehand from the HT magazine. As Chinatown has already mentioned on this thread this is not always good as there are different deals in the customer brochures.

Sounds like a computer response - so bad of Avon. It seems that they just support the PCs and let us lowly reps suffer.

One Christmas a lot of the gift sets etc I ordered were "out of Stock" and finally came two days before Christmas - I had a lot of returns that year...... Now I actually tell my customers to get in quick so they don't get left behind.
