You seem to be doing really well. I have an area of 260 houses but only 120 people are actually interested in buying anything and that includes friends and family. How long have you been doing this for? If you dont mind me asking how big an area do you have? are there any tips that you can share with a newbie. I have sold £1500 and am on Campaign 4 (well I have done Avon for 4 campaigns).

We started around Xmas last year i think , we have 70 regular customers that we deliver books to , our area is about 400 houses.

There are so many tips on this thread, its well worth reading if you get time.

I was originally given an area of 150 houses and went knocking door to door. Only 80 people were interested in looking at the brochures. I then spoke to my manager who gave me another 100 houses. Out of these only another 40 were interested. I have a regular 25 customers. My customers are great as a few of them have already introduced new people.

Deanos - How did you manage to have so many houses and customers? Did you ask for a larger area? This thread is fantastic for hints. I am going to do a raffle this time round and then maybe another one for Christmas.

Im gonna do a raffle this month too, and i'm expanding and adding another 70 houses to my territory its gonna take a while cos ive only got 40 books but hopefully it'll be worth it. my head is buzzing though with trying to work out what day to say i'll pick up what etc its a nightmare cos i work shifts and i'm on a 7 week rota so basically it is different every week for 7 weeks and then starts again so i cant have a regular routine, especially as the delivery dates are always different, its driving me crazy! i think next time i'm gonna order a lot more books just so i can drop em all at once and then pick em up again at the same time. hopefully it'll be less mind boggling! lol

I find it easier with more books and you can leave them out for longer. It must be difficult though with the rota. Do you work the same hours? Could you pick the books up in the morning of the same day each week?

What is everyone doing as prizes for their raffle?

Earlier in the thread people mentioned hampers, but didn't go into detail as to what they put in them.

I've got a few items (free gifts) that I managed to back order but not really enough to put in a hamper plus they all don't really go together  - a hairbrush, a couple of single eye shadows, a couple of concealers, a night cream and an intense hair repair product.

So would you mind listing what you put as your raffle prizes. Thank you :A

I have bought some items from back catalogues, Hello Tomorrow and customer order freebies. I have also collected some of the sample packs goodies and bonus bags from brochures. I have not quite decided what I am putting in the hamper as I intend to design it towards the winner. There are lipsticks, mascaras, perfumes, necklaces and other goodies. I just hope it works as it will be my first one.

Did you give yourself a budget when buying stuff Lissa?

Do you mind me asking what it cost you for the items you had to pay for that you are putting in the hamper? I'm really just trying to gauge what something like that costs to put together against how much I could expect in additional sales (if it worked).

It probably cost me about £25 for about £50 rrp. I am selling each ticket for £1 or 6 for £5. i thought I would start with something small and then see how it goes.
