Appeal to the board guides yet again:

Can we have this made a sticky please? and if possible divided into sales tips and questions/queries? Would happily volunteer to moderate it though I know it is Shortie's baby - not sure what she would like to happen?

Alys, keep going, i'm only on my 3rd campaign, and if you read back through this thread, you'll see me panicking! but i just made the first target on my first order, and then my second order, (which has just arrived today hurrah!) i got to the 2nd target, and i haven't even canvassed all of my area yet!

I was really put off my some people on my first time out, but i have since found some lovely people, and it really boosts you to know that you're not bonkers and people are going to buy something.. just maybe not every time.
and i know a few people i've spoken to were checking me out to see if i was reliable. so i'm hoping a few more people will order when they know who i am.

and good news too, had a call from my ASM who says the girl who was doing my road is not doing it any more so i can have it! and she still has one order that she'll drop off. So that's nice news!

Hi Private uni! Glad things have take a turn on the upside for you!

    Well done :D

Try and get your whole territory done next camp just to get people to get to know you! I had people checking me out too, which I don't blame them as they had unreliable reps before me. I'm really enjoying doing it and it's just my health that is bad really...going out to do it on a bad day is a killer!

Having said that I now have a really large territory and like all of customers :)

I'm having a really hard time with getting younger people interested in even looking at the brochure, im getting a really good response from the older generation but there seems to be a bit of an idea going around that avon is only for older people which is ridiculous! i'm only 23 and i love avon. i've shown people products but the young uns on my road seem to be a bit snobby about it, and wont even look!

me too! your 20's is the best time to start using stuff like that apparently. even my boyfriend uses is lol i think he uses more products than me, he wants to stay looking young forever lol.i was thinkin about running a recommend a friend scheme, so that if a customer gets me an outside order they get 10% of their order, what do u think. do u think it'd work or encourage people to do avon themselves which may lose me customers rather than gain them!

i know what you mean...I'm hoping prevention is better than cure :D

If don't see why it would encourage them to do Avon themselves Gem...with all the ads and everything if they were going to do it, they'd do it I reckon!

Give it a go and if it doesn't work out just don't do it again :)

I'll try it. might work but if not i got nothing to lose.i've sorted one problem, ive commisioned my mate to drive me on deliveries if i get orders from salons etc that want the orders delivered to home. a bit of petrol money and a free gift now and then will keep her happy so that'll help.
  • Grr need a whinge- im in the week where you have to hand out everyones orders and chase everyone for the money and its such a pain. My customers dont seem to realise that i have to actually put their money in the bank and then pay using my card- grrrrr!!!!!

    Phew whinge over!

    Whilst you're ranting...........

I had a customer who said to me I haven’t ordered anything, so I showed her the order form and she said that’s my name, address and writing/signature but I swear I haven’t ordered everything.

"So I said are you sure you haven’t just forgotten?" And she said, "I think I would know if I had ordered it."

But she even admited to me that it was her writing and signature. Does she think I'm stupid lol it was a £45 order, normally I wouldnt be as wound up but it was a big order :(
Proud to be dealing with my debts
