Avon - Hints and Tips?

Hi Gem, I live in a block of flats and i just wanna round and say "i live downstairs and im the new avon lady for the building". Once you're in you could say "I live across the road (or whereever) and im the new avon lady for your building". This might start you off a bit better and they will know who you are and what you want straight away. Or maybe if you feel really uncomfortable you could put a poster up a few days before in their reception area (if have one) saying you will be coming round?
Deanos, if you dont pay in full, dont they hold back your next order?:happylove If you do what you've always done, you'll get where you've always got! :heartpuls0 -
Gemia - I think Louise's advice is great. Someone also mentioned that most flats have a 'trade' buzzer that lets you into the building before 10-11am that post and delivery people use so maybe if you get your books out early in the day you might feel more comfortable about doing that than ringing someone's bell to let you into the building, and then you know they have brochures to collect when you come back so they'll feel ok to let you in presumably. You could also take the calling cards with you for if people don't answer the door once you're in the building (assuming you've already left a brochure with them)
Louise, you don't have to wait until you're placing an order to claim credit. Basically they just take the amount off your balance and then you fill in some forms online which you need to print out and put inside your box for returns and keep a copy for yourself (a bit like a catalogue return if you've ever donw one of them) and you give the box to the delivery driver when he drops off your next number. The credit appears the same day or the day after you request it and as long as they get the goods back in (I think!) 36 days you won't be charged. this gives you the chance to resell if anyone orders the same products and it means you don't lose your sales towards PC, though obviously underwear with it being personal sizes and stuff will be difficult to resell.
I had an outstanding balance this month of 94 quid and placed an order (see my earlier post) and I've been told today it's being despatched still. I did call to tell them the situation in advance though and they made a note on my account. I told them I would either pay for the goods or claim credit by Friday. I've been unable to deliver some large orders, and one of them (£41) has decided she doesn't want it after all. Yeah, cheers love. That was after going to her house 3 times and being messed around...
Oooo, what an essay. So has anyone tried any promos lately that have worked for them?
Deanos - you and the missus are good at all the backordering and making sure you get the freebies...I'm crap at organisation...do you have a system?

Hi,
When you log a return a few days later Avon knock the cost of it off your account balance. So say if you returned something for £10, they knock about £8 off your bill because they aren’t going to give you the commission for it. That confused me a bit at first lol. Couldn’t work out why about £12 had been knocked off my account balance when I was returning something for £15 lol.

I have started attaching samples to order forms for customers who regularly order instead of just sticking it in the bag when I deliver.
I have noticed that this way I seem to get allot more interest in the item.
I did it this campaign with the make me wonder perfume and got about 9 orders for it, 4 from one lady once I told her it was a limited range! And all these people have told me that when there goods arrive they usually just pull it out of the bag and don't notice the sample every time.
I only do this with reg customers though, imagine how hard it would be to attach 100+ samples, I'd go crazy lol

Hi All,
For returns I found the easiest way to do it was to check my original invoice and it gives you the exact breakdown of how much you (not your cusomer) paid for each item, so I just deduct my cost of the return from the final balance and then pay it.
Promo wise, I ordered a load of perfume samples and put a flyer together listing if they liked a certain fragrance e.g coco chanel then why not try this Avon fragrance etc etc. I put one of these in each book and mentioned that I had samples of perfumes directly to each customer. I'm collecting my books back in tomorrow so I'll see how it has gone but I'm not holding my breath as I would have thought that if they had wanted samples then they might have contacted me before their order was due. Oh well I'll keep you posted

Thanks Mikiki! That sounds like a great idea. How do you attach them? I never thought to keep an eye out for samples for new products either...thanks0 -
Hope you get on OK with the samples TM. You know what people are like (myself included) they probably will just remember when you collect the book and ask for the samples then...means another trek out then though doesn't it? lol Ah well, it will get easier in time I guess0

Fanastic idea Mikiki :T , thank you. I might try that then rather then relying on people to ask me if they want to try a certain sample.0
