    Thanks for your reply KTF.

I've been told by an advisor on NatWest webchat that it's for customers who do not already hold a NatWest e-Isa so it looks like Santander's 3.3% Isa might be on the cards.

I've got that same Natwest ISA and I keep it for the year when I open a "good rate ISA" which doesn't accept transfers in (The Natwest one does).

The massive advantage of that one is that it's 2.75% CLEAN, no bonus! so whatever moeny you have there, you don't have to worry year after year about transferring it.

But when/if this year's best ISA does not accept transfers, what do I do with last year's one that is going to drop to 2% because the bonus is ending? I transfer it to Natwest :j
  • Cant believe how difficult it is to transfer into Santander . Their web page link is not working so I telephoned them. Having been passed through 4 different people to try and get them to email it to me they told me they were unable to do that and there must be a probem with my browser if the page was not available this is despite rying through 2 different browsers.
Shame they have just missed out on a large deposit!

They haven't updated the link to the form as it is still pointing to their staging server rather than the 'Live' Internet server:
Give it a few hours or try tomorrow and they would probably have fixed it due to the volume of people phoning up and complaining about it.

I've just had the exact same problem - it's got to be a fault on their end.

I'm going to try in branch today to get a form. They better have one! I've just opened the 2 year FRISA and have only got 14 days to transfer in.

    Yeah, it's Santander. :p

The AA have a 3.5% instant-access ISA which would be more flexible.

The minimum balance has to remain at £2500, and you cannot make partial withdrawals, I believe.

Santander are offering a 3.30% ISA, but require an initial deposit of of £2500. They allow transfers in.

Question is, do they class the transfer money as the initial deposit, or would I have to transfer my existing ISA AND then deposit a further £2500?

    Thanks

A transfer in is the same as a deposit.

Quick question - my girlfriend doesnt have any money to save but I do. Is it legal to open a new cash isa in her name to use her allowance even though its really my money?

Legally, if you did this, the money would become hers. If you were to split up, you would have a job on your hands getting "your" money back.

You'd technically be giving her this money.
