Now, waiting for both. Is it becoming the norm in UK to wait for many weeks to open a savings account?
Called them at 9am the next day.
By 9.10am account was open and I had my sort code and account number.
Went onto the app and used the second option, account number login.
Santander, Said open within 3 days.
Looked at emails and first said 3 days next 2 said account open.
So 1 minute to open.
Over a week for pass codes to get online access.
Just call them.

There will be surely be many announcements soon - so it really helps this thread to avoid chat posts about what people think might happen, what people are thinking of doing, etc. On the fixed thread then it does matter what might happen in the future but for easy access what to do is much simpler as rates change.1
