Applied to open Santander ESaver Limited Edition account 2.75% on 13th October.  Also applied to open Al Rayan account on 27th October.
Now, waiting for both. Is it becoming the norm in UK to wait for many weeks to open a savings account?

Fortunately for me, my account was approved in less than one hour and as I already use their app I didn’t have to wait for anything else so was fully up and running very quickly.

There will be surely be many announcements soon  - so it really helps this thread to avoid chat posts about what people think might happen, what people are thinking of doing, etc. On the fixed thread then it does matter what might happen in the future but for easy access what to do is much simpler as rates change.

I've found Coventry Building Society and Yorkshire Building Society have tended to release new rates less than an hour after the BoE decision in recent rate rises - hopefully this happens again today.
