  • Just filled out an application for Al Rayan and it says "thank you for your application to open an account with
Al Rayan Bank We will contact you shortly to complete your application" is this normal ?

Don't think. I've waited but Zopa is being very slow to update the rates this time and they are way down the list now on the easy access rates. Started to draw my money out. Shame as I like the app.

Is transferring from Zopa to Al Rayan a smooth process?
Just moved over my money but Zopa would only allow me to withdraw to my verified account so had to move back to my Halifax Current account then into Al Rayan..... All very smooth, money went in within 10-20 mins. Al Rayan get the thumbs up from me so far. App is a little tricky but other than that all good
Thanks, I transferred from Zopa to my linked account and will transfer to Al Rayan tonight.

My application got stuck at step 4, I phoned them today and they sorted it out straight away and got my account opened. They're only open Mon-Fri 9-5 though unfortunately.

I filled out my application on Sunday, got the same message and then received an email mid morning yesterday saying my account was all set up.

Payments in are quite quick, circa 15 minutes. I tried a small withdrawal about an hour ago to my Chase account, not there yet. Does anyone know how long withdrawals usually take please?

There is a message displaying on their home page, this may apply to your withdrawal 'We are currently experiencing an issue processing some payments. We hope to have this resolved shortly and apologise for any inconvenience. Digital and Telephone Banking are unaffected by this issue and are operating as normal.'

Yes, I saw that when I set up the withdrawal. I just wondered how long they normally take.

I'd like to put some money into one of the Easy Access accounts but am always a bit uncertain about dealing with banks or building societies that I know next to nothing about.

Which ones with good interest rates are reliable and reasonably fast with good customer service?

I have only done one test withdrawal with Al Rayan and it went through early the next day I believe

Re Al Rayan, I believe the cut off time for withdrawals is 5pm.  I've made withdrawals (on working days) well before 5pm and one arrived the same day, whilst the other arrived the next day.
