I have a fixed rate account with Ford Money and can confirm that their Flexible Saver @ 1.95% is still available to existing customers.

    'Loyalty' in the name.
But the 'Rainy Day' blends to a top rate depending how much you deposit.
  • Basic question re the 2.5% YBS easy access to to 5k. It says interest paid annually on 31st march. If I open an account and close before then, I assume it'll pay interest upon closing? Can't see confirmation on their terms.

I am struggling to transfer money from my santander account to YBS

santander doesnt recognise the details given to me by YBS, so i get a warning message.

i think its the name. I have tried variations of my name, YbS followed by my name, but none gets recognised.

    has anyone done this recently?
    thanks

I can't answer your question but, judging by other posts on here, Santander can be very quick to lock you out of your account(s) when their anti-fraud systems kick in, so I would be cautious about trying continually, at least until you get a better idea of how to proceed without further problems.
  • If you are using Yorkshire Building Society as the payee name, select Business as account type and ensure you enter your reference number correctly, and all should be fine.

That said, I selected Personal when setting up the payee via my current account elsewhere, overrode CoP check and all transferred fine.

YBS don't use confirmation of payee so no matter what name you use it won't recognise it. If Santander doesn't let you make the payment there's always the option of depositing by debit card, though you'd lose 2 days worth of interest, or transferring it to a different bank first.
