  • I find it strange how each time I open a savings account with Tesco, I have to wait for them to verify it's me before I can actually then withdraw money from the new account, if needed.

Did try to speed up process my phone but they're "busy"

I only encountered that problem for the first time today, with the latest account which I opened and funded yesterday.  I wasn't sure whether the application was still in progress, or if the process had been completed and there was perhaps a problem with the account.  So I gave them a call and they said it could be up to 48hrs before withdrawals or internal transfers from the new account are allowed.

Applied without entering NI number and it went through. Account opened.

    Crazy, but done.

Thanks for the suggestion. Mine timed out on 3 attempts. 4th time I left out my NI number and it worked!!!

Ford Money have increased the interest rate on their easy access account from 0.40% to 0.50%.

Same rate as Marcus but transfers out take at least a day as opposed to seconds with Marcus.

No deposits allowed after 3pm on November 5th so a very limited account.
  • I see that the Tesco Internet Saver rate has just been increased to 0.59%, incl a 12 month 0.49% bonus. And their Cash ISA rate is now increased to 0.51%, incl a 12 month 0.41% bonus.
It's a shame that you're unable to review your existing accounts ala Marcus and nudge the rate up.
    You can.
Log in. Find manage my accounts (or something like that) may be a few clicks I can't remember exactly where I found it. Include the bonus and you get 0.6%. It worked for my account that I took out a few years ago.
