    @soulsaver
Paragon Bank Double Access Savings Account Issue 7 to be launched at 5.05% tomorrow (£1k min).
Unless I'm getting mixed up, won't it be issue 9?  as they have lately withdrawn issue 8
This is what I'm seeing on moneyfacts:

They have been known to relaunch previous issues before so I believe it is indeed going to be issue 7 and not a new issue 9 being launched.

You are correct though, they have withdrawn issue 8 fairly recently so I should've typed ``relaunched" rather than ``launched".
Why I'm surprised is Issue 2 & Issue 5 were also both 5.05% so after Issue 6 they didn't reissue 5, they issued 7, and none of them have been reissued on the double..
I'm not saying moneyfacts are incorrect, but it seems a bit odd, but will all be clear tomorrow. :)

Any strong feelings about Wombat (4.91% @ BOE less up to 0.5%?).

    I'm drawn to trackers.
If you do want to open the account remember they offer a £10 welcome bonus in a addition to a refer a friend offer (£10 each) for new customers who open an investment account with them (no deposit required to get the £10).

Their savings accounts are excluded from the sign up offer so make sure you open an investment account with them first before opening the savings account.
Does the £10 bonus offer apply to their ISA as well?
Yes it does. Note the £10 bonus would also count towards your ISA allowance.
I have tried to open both a GIA and an ISA and keep getting as far as adding the nominated bank account details and get the following message, "an unknown error has occurred'

I've checked and re-checked all of my details etc., and everything is correct.

Anyone else had any difficulty? Is this maybe just a temporary problem at their end?
Yes it did that with me. Not impressed with them
Were you able to progress it or did you give up on them?
No. I gave up. The restrictions of only 1 withdrawal per month and  very slow deposits and withdrawals meant it wasn't worth it.

Metro have announced their rates are dropping to 3.88% from around 5%. Time to move, not sure where as i like regular withdrawals.
Ulster Loyalty Saver is still paying 5.2%.  Instant withdrawals, but you have to have minimum £5k in the account to get this rate.  If it falls below £5k he rate drops to 2.25%.

Think you need an Ulster Bank Current Account to withdraw though these days from what I read, is that right?

Only to open the account, once you have the Loyalty Saver you can make payments to and from it directly without needing to bounce money through the current account.

    Thanks for the advice.
I have the current account. When I pay from the Loyalty Saver account, it seems to use the payment mandate from the current account (same reference number). I am wondering whether the payee would be removed once current account is closed so you can no longer pay directly from loyalty saver using the same mandate?

    Why close the current account?
