My wife and I both got the email and have opened the 5.1% account. We both had very low balances in the savings account due to its poor interest rate but once the Santander rate drops this will be one of the best.2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0

Did you have to remove the app or just update it, please? I updated and the new account's only the same as the old one (4.10%). I did receive the offer notification, but like others, it stated expired.Expotter said:I also got the "expired or unavailable" message.

On the suggestion of someone in the dedicated Chase thread, I did a 'forced stop' (after logging off) - on Android, go to 'Settings', then 'Apps', look for 'Chase', click, and at the bottom there should be a 'forced stop' option. Then I re-opened the app, and went straight to the 'Add' option under 'Save & Invest' (note: the first time, I clicked on a "find out more" button, and that was enough for it to tell me I was no longer eligible, so I had to do the forced stop again). And it gave me a new 5.1% saver.10_66 said:

I haven't received the email yet, but following your instructions precisely, I was able to open the Bonus savings account - many thanks to you and whoever posted it in the original Chase thread.EthicsGradient said:

Customers who have very low balances but use the account for the 1% cash back are less profitable than customers with higher balances (Chase surely makes money even with the 5.1% rate). What they did today should prompt some of their least profitable existing customers to increase their balances and therefore become more profitable customers.brucefan_2 said:
Strange decision from Chase - potentially upset customers who have more than £500 lodged in savings accounts (and possibly quite a lot more) to the extent that they may take their custom elsewhere.
Reward customers with less than £500 with a higher paying account - potentially customers who don't have a lot more to save anyway. I'm confident Chase will have done the Maths and identified particular scenarios such that it may seem to make sense to them.1
