I stand corrected ! The fact they don't mention that in the Summary Box on the account product page is poor.flaneurs_lobster said:The first working day in January each year, it's in the Guide to Personal Accounts Fees and Interest document (natch).3 -

I set up a Santander Edge current account after reading this forum so that I could get the 7% savings account. Opened the account in August and stuck £3 in it just in case I was charged a fee. I have no DDs so in theory I shouldn’t.Today I logged on and a message popped up saying that I was paying a fee on an account but had no DDs so was not earning cashback and I should set up DDs. I assume that I should ignore that as I haven’t been charged any fees thus far?
NB As an aside I managed to get 2 Edge savings accounts accidentally as I applied twice as I lost the WiFi connection at the first attempt and I thought it hadn’t worked but they opened both. They have now caught up with me and one will convert to a rubbish interest account towards the end of November so the money will be moved. I still got 3 extra months at the 7% rate though! Might be worth a whirl if anyone is thinking of opening an Edge account. Possibly needs 2 applications in quick succession before they approve the first one.0 -

With a bit of research, you'll find you can probably legitimately get 2.1 -
I’m in same boat and got that message too. I assume the logic behind giving users that message is not correct and I continue to expect that I won’t be charged a fee, but that at some point Santander might get upset that I’m not operating the Edge Current Account in the manner in which it is intended.kjs31 said:I set up a Santander Edge current account after reading this forum so that I could get the 7% savings account. Re: Santander Edge Current Account
I got the same message but will ignore it until I get charged.

It does make sense to collect feedback and work with it.Freebird53 said:grumbler said:
A poll makes no sense in this case. There were too many issues and the towers would never agree to revert to the old design. There were several threads on Site feedback board and still are, including the main (closed now) The Forum is getting a new lookFreebird53 said:I probably shouldn't but.. Was there a poll on the site re-design?Makes no sense?Makes no sense to get a definitive view from the people who actually use the site?Yes, that makes perfect sense in todays world!
A pool means voting. What do you suggest to vote for/against?0 -
Oh I didn't realise we could open the account without having to pay the fee, must have missed the posts but I'll definitely give it a trykjs31 said:I set up a Santander Edge current account after reading this forum so that I could get the 7% savings account. I think the jury's still out on this one.Oh I didn't realise we could open the account without having to pay the fee, must have missed the posts but I'll definitely give it a try
In any case, 7% on £4K is about £23/month. Even with the £3 charge (and no cashback) probably still worth holding.1 -

Yes even deducting £36 you'll still earn 6.1% interest on your 4k holding after 12 months assuming Santander doesn't drop the rate.
