Would it work to open two savings accounts with Chorley - a less attractive one first, and then the 5.3% Loyalty Easy Access Saver?
Annoyingly too, because I've got bonds and the FHS with Coventry plus now the ISA, I can't put much into their 5.2% EA either.
Thankfully there's several 5.1%s now as well as Santander's 5.2% EA.0 -

I've given up on Cynergy, I closed my account with them a couple of weeks ago. I just couldn't bring myself to live with their wacky process every time they released another issue. It's been no great loss as there are plenty of other accounts now that can replace them.1
