I originally had my easy access money in Marcus when it was one of the leading rates but jumped onto Chase and moved across to there when it launched with its 1.5% rate. As I had a Santander 123 ac I went with its easy access 2.75% and moved my money there. Chase then went to 3% so across the money went to be followed by Santander going to 3.25% so back the money went. Now Marcus is 3.3% so off we go with transfers.
And this is only with the three accounts I have open (I realise there are higher rate accounts before someone points that out!) but I don’t ever recall such a time as this for changing rates (unless it’s just I’m more aware)3 -

The perfect and sensible strategy. I have a few more accounts to play with than you but do similar. Unless anything amazing comes along, I’ve stopped opening any more new accounts as it was starting to get a bit silly!RedImp_2 said:I originally had my easy access money in Marcus when it was one of the leading rates but jumped onto Chase and moved across to there when it launched with its 1.5% rate. I have Issue 33 and that's been increased to 3.59% monthly automatically, so I assume some of the later issues have been updated to prevent Shawbrook being swamped with account upgrade secure messages.SJMALBA said:Shawbrook EA Issue 35 - 3.65% (3.59% monthly), 1k min.

Regarding withdrawals from Shawbrook .Are they like Coventry whereby you instruct and they debit and pay the following day. Thereby not losing interest. Or like Charter, where once instructed they immediately debit the amount and only transfer the following day, thus losing a days interest?

"Looking to withdraw funds? You'll need to request an online withdrawal before 21:30 on a working day in order for your funds to reach you by 23:59 on the following working day. It's usually quicker to complete this transaction outside 22:00-23:00 on a weekday. We update payments during that time."infoadict said:Regarding withdrawals from Shawbrook .Are they like Coventry whereby you instruct and they debit and pay the following day. Thanks - but that doesn't tell me when the debit takes place and whether a day's interest is lost. I.e with Coventry you instruct on Day 1 but they only debit your account on Day 2 and then transfer. Charter however debit on Day 1 and transfer on Day 2, thus losing interest.Which of these camps does Shawbrook fit into?0
