The YBS 'make me a saver' ac maturity (anytime now) gets transferred to an otherwise unavailable Internet Saver Plus Iss 2 paying a not insignificant 2.85% on upto £20k and 2.75% on balance above.

So I checked my other NLA accs and several of them pay the same - presumably from the YBS recent saving accounts rationalisation action.

Thought I saw somewhere about Charter changing rates on Monday.
    Anyone know?
I did post this a few days ago but I think my post was lost in amongst the incredible amount of posts about Coventry and CHIP. Charter have now updated their documentation. You’ll see that everything up to Issue 29 will increase to 3% from Monday. No change/increase to Issues 30 or 31.

So it doesn`t look like there will be a new issue paying 3%.

I have Charter easy access issue 28 and got the email saying 3% on the 23rd.
    Thanks for that.
I see they are on issue 31 at the moment.
Have they been increasing your rate on issue 28 when new issues come out?
I don't think so, I think this is the first increase since I opened it. It took a while to open so by the time the account was functional, it was no longer competitive with my others so I've not really used it. I will now though.

Charter appear to be operating in a similar way to Paragon at the moment - eg. Paragon raised previous issues of their Triple Access account to 3% at the end of last year, whereas the currently available issue is only paying 2.85%.

Interesting to hear that it took Charter a while to open an easy access account for the poster above - it took them 2 months for them to approve me as a new customers and transfer a Cash ISA, so (to put it politely !) I get the impression they're not the quickest of banks.... (the ISA transfer was electronic and only took a couple of days right at the end of that 2 month period, so that definitely wasn't the cause of the delay)
  • Souns like it is getting more and more important to open as many as possible £1 holding accounts to benefit from rates increases in the future.... Going to be a busy weekend I guess

    See:

It's nowhere near as bad as some of the names mentioned on this thread though:

A Charter Savings question.  I put £5010 into an Issue 30 but it seems it's not going to be raised to the 3% expected of other earlier issues.  I've looked but cant find the answer, but can I withdraw say £5k and leave £10 to keep the account open for the future or does it automatically get closed when below the £5k required to open the account?
    Tks
