Two of my switches completed today and I received the emails from
Santander stating that the switch is complete - however I can still see my old bank accounts live in online banking?

Whenever I’ve done a switch before in the past, I’m pretty sure the old account has been removed from online banking straight away. Has this happened to anyone else?

The banks accounts switched were with NatWest and Bank of Scotland.

Some banks are slower than others, suggest looking again tomorrow morning.

They should disappear overnight - Halifax, Lloyds and Bank of Scotland also are visible with £0 balance on the day of the switch until the following day.

Indeed, which is why I think it safer to wait until the following day to make a claim.

With Nationwide the a/cs disappear straight away so for my last switch ending Monday (from Nationwide) I'm planning to claim the same day.

It shouldn't make any difference - from Santander's perspective the switch has finished. They send an email to confirm. I have accounts switching on Tuesday so won't be able to wait anyway :D (I am just keeping my fingers crossed that the claim page remains available on the 18th).

Brief question re steps following claim submission. From the site:

'When you make a Claim the Referring Friend will receive an email confirming if they qualify for a £50 Amazon eGift voucher, and will therefore know that you switched an account to Santander. We’ll check to make sure the terms of the offer have been met and then email you both a £50 Amazon.co.uk Gift Card.'

Does this mean you'll get an email confirming eligibility? Neither of the two referrers involved have received such an email for any of the 7 claims made so far. Or, do you just receive the £50 voucher when confirmed?

No, despite it stating that, no one gets an email on submitting the claim to acknowledge the submission. You only get an email on a successful claim when you receive the voucher, and only the referrer's email includes the code used to claim, so if you have multiple claims and any missing it is difficult for the switcher to identify which is missing.

Thanks. Should be easy enough to check off the codes as they'll only come to my email address and my girlfriend's as the other referrer.

Just to confirm that yes, both accounts have been removed this morning. :)

That's it. All over bar the chancers hoping that a switch commenced today (or tomorrow etc) can dip under the bar and successfully claim on the 18th.. when it doesn't complete until the following day.

Let us know if you try it...:)

And of course the 'Where's my voucher...?' shouts...:)
