Santander Refer a Friend

If Santander see switching a joint into a joint as referring yourself, then you (may) get nothing using your OHs referral code as that is clearly not allowed in their terms.

So best use someone else's referral code for that where you're sure to get a voucher.

But if you refer each other and you switch sole accounts into a joint then how is that referring yourself? It would only be referring yourself if you switched an account that you are named on into your account i.e. switching a joint account into a joint account or switching your own sole account into the joint account using your own referral code.

I checked with Santander via facebook if I could refer my husband and if he switched a sole account into the joint account would we be eligible and they said yes.

He submitted his claim on the 2nd March and so we'll see what happens.

Sorry, I meant if switching a joint to a joint it may be seen as referring yourself. Have edited reply to clarify.

Me and my wife have done this. The T&C don't prohibit it... We've both referred each other to transfer a dormant single account each into the joint account.

We're waiting for the £200 (2x £50 each) vouchers like everyone else...

Just had £50 Amazon code through. Switch completed 5th March, claimed same day.


Both mine & hubby's gift cards are the ones for referring, not yet had the ones for opening the account.

I have received mine as referrer, as has Mrs Anon (different referral codes referred to in both of the emails), but neither of us have received the voucher as Referree yet. No need to panic just yet though, perhaps they are coming our in batches (claim forms completed last Thursday 7th March for both). The referreer giftcards came through at 12.04. Edit - 12.27 - both referee emails now through :cool:

My OH has her 1st referral gift card today - not seen mine for the switch yet.

Pedantic maybe, but FTAOD: There is no gift for opening an account; it's for switching.
