Symbio Energy feedback

FAQ from EON here https://www.eonnext.com/symbio-energyI'm not the one who's confused - I'd already provided a hyperlink to E.On Next's FAQ site, and that's where the quoted bits came from !When BG's manager called me back, he said that my switch to BG on 30 September had got there first before E.On Next were appointed SoLR, so E.On Next wouldn't be allowed to take over my account. This is confirmed by the second FAQ that I quoted above. My DNO is still showing Symbio as my provider but I accept that their records may not have been updated. Anyway, we'll see what happens. The main thing is that Symbio don't owe me any money. They've just billed me for estimated usage all the way to 31 October but I've told GoCardless that I'll pay them after receipt of an accurate final bill showing the same opening meter reading used by British Gas. Glad I ignored Ofcom's recommendations, switching away from Symbio and cancelling the DD immediately !2 -
Somebody must be your current supplier, Symbio doesn't exist so it must be Eon.You will probably still need to supply a changeover meter reading for the switch from Symbio to Eon, as close as possible to Sunday 3rd October when they took over.0

E.On Next's website says that 'Your switch will continue as normal so you don’t need to do anything'. So I haven't sent them a meter reading. However, if you're correct then even British Gas managers are wrong, so what chance does a humble consumer have?Anyway, I've emailed E.On Next saying that I'm already switching to BG so I'll see what they say.0

It might be best to just see what happens. Someone will end up billing you for your current use, Eon would be the logical answer but I'm not sure if logic exists any more. This doesn't contradict Eon's advice - they have not said that they will not be your supplier for a short time.

I started my switch away after the 3 Oct…..will see what happens. No money to retrieve from Symbio as my account will be in deficit once the final bill is produced. I am expecting therefore to also have a short interim bill of 3 Oct to the switch date on the Eon tariff similar to when I was with Utilita for a short period after Eversmart went bust.0

Some of us have been here before and I'm sure it wasn't a bundle of fun in the 40's and 50's either (I was kid in the 50's so dont remember what my parents had to put up with)Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Yup, the boomers were the first generation for quite a while who didn't have to live through a world war. Can't have been easy not knowing whether you and your family would live to see the next morning.0

Has anyone else switching away from Symbio (initiated after 3 Oct) received email from symbio customer services asking to click a link to provide consent? I’m not going to click the link but may just email them back to give consent albeit I assume this is just an auto generated email and who knows if this email address is being monitored now by Eon.0
