Symbio Energy feedback

wittynamegoeshere said:I'd hope that Ofgem will be having some serious words with them and will be analysing their business model. Either that or they're playing golf while waiting for the email from them to say they've just gone bust. It's illegal to trade while insolvent, so presumably they pre-bought massive amounts of power back when the price was low. Either that or they have some kind of perpetual motion machine that generates all the electricity they sell. But there's no need to worry about switching to them, the worst that could happen is that they steal your money then everyone else refunds your losses, they can just bung the bill on next April's capped price rise, along with the mountain of other losses.I'm thinking about starting an energy company. Privatise the profits, socialise the losses, everyone's a winner - except everyone.0

I moved to Neon Reef today & they are showing as my supplier in the database - Symbio will still showing yesterday & not EON
I initiated the switch the same day Symbio said they were ceasing to trade
Moving away from Symbio so quickly suppressed the generation of the estimated October bill so all I can receive is a final bill from Symbio for what I owe them as I am not in credit
I am not 100% sure I will get a final bill quickly as it may be the SoLR that will have to sort it out
If I do receive the final bill from Symbio quickly then I expect it will contain an automatically generated £30 exit fee charge - if so I will be cancelling the direct debit so they cannot charge this - instead I will manually pay the final bill using the online portal & deduct the £30 exit fee from the total
I may also have to take into account that Symbio should only charge me up to October 2nd and that I was supplied by EON between October 3rd to October 6th2 -

My I contracted with Neon Reef on 30th Sept. Symbio has objected to the transfer, twice!
My legal opinion is that as Symbio did not hold a supplier licence on the 30th, it cannot take advantage of the part of the General Licencing Conditions to attempt to block a transfer. see 14 of

Sorry but I think you are confused / mistaken
EON next started supplying your energy on October 3rd on their "deemed" tariff
Eventually you should be billed by EON on their deemed tariff for the period October 3rd to October 24th i.e. the day before you join BG
Just because, for example, your account has not been transferred over from Symbio onto EONs own billing system yet doesnt change that fact
There is nothing in the screenshot you listed contradicting the above
FAQ from EON here https://www.eonnext.com/symbio-energy
