this is what Symbio says
Q: Will my Direct Debits be transferred to the new supplier?
A: No, we don’t share any financial details regarding your direct debit with anyone. Once you have been switched over, the new supplier will send you details on setting up your direct debit as part of their onboarding process
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers2 -
So as an ex-Symbio customer who is owed final bill credit, how will I get paid?matelodave said:this is what Symbio says

The SoLR will pick it up once they have dealt with current customers, could take up to a year depending on what sort of crap they have got to wade through !Swipe said:

Just had the email saying E.ON is my new supplier, email says they put me on their cheapest tariff, but no information of what that is.
Just went on their website to get a quote, 28.84p per kWh, 35.07p per day
Should I wait, or just start a switch with Neon Reef as they are the cheapest for me i can find0 -
That may not necessarily be the Standard Variable Tariff that you will get; most suppliers aren't offering their SVT to genuine newbies switching at the same address, only to new occupiers, as a rollover tariff after a fixed period expires or as an SoLR.Redbullmaster said:Just had the email saying E.ON is my new supplier, email says they put me on their cheapest tariff, but no information of what that is.

It looks like we'll all be getting the capped rate of roughly 21p/unit, 25p/day, unless Ofgem have managed to negotiate a lower rate, which is very unlikely. This is "variable" but in reality is fixed until April next year, as that is when the cap will be next reviewed.I just hope that Eon have enough to repay all of Symbio's overcharging and that they know the scale of the scam operation they're taking over.0

lol, I switched to Eon Next one month before Symbio went bust. I wonder if Eon Next would just transfer my Symbio credit directly into my Eon account0

They're able to reclaim the costs of the SOLR process from a central fund which will then be recouped via a levy on all bills. Whilst this might have been a trivial sum in the past with only the odd supplier, mostly quite small, failing, the fallout from the present crisis is likely to be much more significant.wittynamegoeshere said:It looks like we'll all be getting the capped rate of roughly 21p/unit, 25p/day, unless Ofgem have managed to negotiate a lower rate, which is very unlikely. This is "variable" but in reality is fixed until April next year, as that is when the cap will be next reviewed.I just hope that Eon have enough to repay all of Symbio's overcharging and that they know the scale of the scam operation they're taking over.0 -
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2021/09/energy-firm-gone-bust--how-your-new-firm-and-tariff-stacks-up says that Symbio customers are now on the E.on Next Flex tariff.
On the https://www.eonnext.com/tariff-search website there are two NextFlex tariffs for my postcode with very different prices. Why would that be?

Whatever E,ON calls its tariff, surely it has to be its "Standard Variable Rate" which has to be at least as good as the price cap? Or the rate you were previously getting with Symbio (which won't happen). Any other rate permutations would require you to opt in.Reed2
