Symbio Energy feedback

I have just spoken to Symbio and they advise the bill will be made up as usual tomorrow and will follow the same format as before. I for one will leave the dd in place and hopefully any credit will come back to me.
They had billed me for 650 units but only used 280 units so will be interesting to see what they now bill me for.2 -

so apparently they will be precharging for estimated energy use in October after they have had their licence to supply revoked in September

I cancelled the DD as soon as Symbio went bust. I sent meter readings today as it's the last day of the month, but couldn't log in to my account because it now says Not Registered, so I couldn't pay the final amount that I owed. I called the customer service number, chose the Billing menu option which was answered amazingly quickly.Equally surprisingly, they couldn't take payment over the phone but said they would email a link within three or four working days, but it arrived within an hour or two.It was for double the DD payment +10p, presumably one day's daily charge. There was no option to change the amount but I happily paid it because it was a couple of pounds less than what I owed them.I also seem to have managed to switch to British Gas Zero Fixed Oct 22 which is a cracking good year-and-a-bit fixed tariff at Day 20.301p/kWh, Night 10.793p/kW, no standing charge and no exit fee. It seems to be only available by Chat (and only if you are very persistent), but it might well be worth a try, especially if you're not desperate to retrieve a large credit balance quickly. It's been confirmed by the Chat transcript, so fingers crossed !.
- Symbio said that E.On is the SoLR although there's nothing on Ofgem's site to confirm this.

Unless the Smart meter actually saves the usage details and these can be retrieved ? (Symbio obviously never used this information when calculating my last few bills during the summer after the Smart meter was installed)
I cancelled my DD yesterday, & happy to set up a new one with the new supplier, once notified0 -
Just received a "We've gone bust" e-mail

Credits won't automatically be refunded but passed to the new supplier, who may refund or apply to the new account.
DDs won't be transferred, but have to set up with the new supplier whether you've cancelled them or not.

Just received the dreaded email - I see from this site it was already known previously. I'm really gutted as I hoped they would be ok due to the great tariffs I've had with them over the last few years. My current tariff was/is fixed until May next year so I'm now concerned about the HUGE increase I'm going to be offered if it can' be honoured by whoever is taking over the customers. As for their bills - I pity the next provider sorting out the terrible Symbio billing system. I for one won't miss the unclear way it worked as it never ever showed my actual balance.0

New bill just arrived. They have billed me for the full month and estimate my usage as 492 units. At last they reduced my annual consumption otherwise would have been a lot higher. Because I was over charge by £37.00 in September they are taking £19. by dd on 8 October. Will let the dd stand and just wait for further developments.2 -
My estimate is for 320 kWh, 1/10 of my EAC so how have they worked that one out ? Now they have gone bust they are operating some sort of almost reasonable billing ! Surely if they have gone bust they cannot take money for a service they are not going to provide ? My dd has been cancelled and account credit will cover around 16 days anyway.
