Swipe said:I moved house and Symbio sent me my final bill. As I was no longer a customer when they went bust can I assume that I will have to claim my final bill credit from the administrators rather than the SOLR? Will the administrators email me or will I have to make contact once I find out who they are? I did tell Symbio to add a note on my account with my new address in the case they went bust but as they didn't not acknowledge both request in their replies, I can only assume that they didn't bother.
its mentioned on the Ofgem website

I assumed the new Smart meter would start at 00000 for R1 and R2, but reading the meter now, I have an R1 of 01530 and an R2 reading of 00977. If I am calculating this correctly it suggests 63% of energy use is at night, this is nonsense as it has always been 20-25%.
So, sorry for the length of the explanation but here are the questions.
Am I reading the Smart meter R1 and R2 correctly?
Will there be a record somewhere of the dumb meter reading when it was exchanged?
Can I expect the SOLR to resolve this, or are they just going to say there is no credit balance to transfer from Symbio?
R1 is typically the day rate, but you should be able to check as depending on the meter there is usually an indication of which is the active register at wherever time of day you read it...Similarly, there should be a card or sticker somewhere close to the meter with the readings of the old meter recorded on it at the point it was removed.

DD went out this morning as advised and got a switch supplier consent email from symbio with link which appears to function.
As far as I can see, the company is still operating as the offshore centre has probably not been told they won't get paid! :-)

An article in The Times newspaper is reporting on Symbio's venture into crypto currency.
I can't view the whole story as I'm not a subscriber but this is how it starts:Symbio Energy: Collapsing company’s crypto venture
As Symbio Energy was close to collapse a series of articles about investing in cryptocurrency were posted on its Twitter thread
The founders of an energy company that owed the regulator hundreds of thousands of pounds appear to have used the company Twitter account to promote a new cryptocurrency venture as their firm crumbled.
Symbio Energy, which had 48,000 customers, went into administration on Wednesday. It had received a final warning from Ofgem, the regulator, over £600,000 it owed in two mandatory payments for government renewables schemes.
The Watford-based company, founded in March 2019, had faced complaints about poor customer service and was consistently placed close to the bottom of rankings.
As the company was close to collapse a series of articles about investing in cryptocurrency were posted on its Twitter thread, including one that explicitly promoted a crypto trading company founded by Symbio’s owners

I have now received my bill from Symbio and despite of putting it in writing they have not reduced my eac as promised. I know it is not important now but to the end they tell lies.0

Just had a bill e-mail. Interestingly the new more accurate (by Symbio standards) estimate would have left me with around £6 credit at the end of Oct, much more palatable.Daughter just had a DD e-mail - they won't now !0

Just got my October bill and Symbio gave notice that DD will be taken in a few days. I cannot see this is legal. Ofgem have announced they are no longer our supplier. I am in significant credit (as shown on the bill) and they are now charging in advance for October. Cancel your DD mandate immediately as advised by ofgem!!!!=============================

I had a complaint in with the ombudsman about Symbio and the switch to them from Avro last February. The ombudsman found in my favour a couple of days ago and was ordering Symbio to pay a goodwill payment of £60. I am in credit with them as at 30 September which includes an excessive forecast usage to end of October!!! Plus they too took a direct debit today from my bank.
I have got my bank to recall the direct debit.....I will have to make a claim on the administrator for the £60 and hope the transfer to my new supplier will go through ok and my credit balance will follow suit.
Next stop I need to settle my closing Avro bill which is not yet agreed....who I have to contact is anyones guess.....Octopus if its a credit....the administrator if its a debit.
After that Its the administration of Utility Point. Methinks the energy market is not working well!!
Looks like we moving back to the days of the Big 5 and no small companies0
