If Symbio does go under, would the supplier of last resort honour our current tariff rates until your new account goes live?
  • I would be extremely surprised if they do. In the past some suppliers have honored customers current fixed tariffs, however they are under no obligation to do this.

They'll likely be in contact though and offer you their cheapest fixed tariff (how cheap depends on supplier)

Considering how low the Symbio tariffs are, and how much more expensive wholesale is now than 3 months ago, I wouldn't expect your current tariffs to be honored.

Hoping they make it until mid November when my 49 day notice kicks in
  • Ofgem has been slow in the past to actually follow through with the RO final orders. GnERGY were in the same position last year and they kept going until March 2020.

If history is anything to go by, you'll remain a Symbio customer paying your existing tariff until your new account with the SOLR goes live.

Does anyone here actually think Symbio have a long term future? Or even medium term?

It appears that there are quite a few who have got a bit cheesed with their strange billing system and have jumped ship at the end of the fix. Unfortunately with a bad reputation and dwindling customer base I can see them hemorrhaging both customers and money over the next couple of months

I would have stayed but but after having agreed a new tariff and payment arrangement they then changed it twice. I've now jumped to Neon Reef (started yesterday). Symbio owe me around £30 so I'll be keen to see how long it takes to get it back.

NR have answered e-mails within minutes whereas Symbio have taken weeks (or not even bothered) so they've been architects of their own demise.

I am confident they will pay the £55.80 because my last bill would have certainly helped them out but  It's the £927,000 plus that may be the issue. What is the point of boasting about how cheap you are when someone else will have to pick up the shortfall if they go bust.
