Yes, it's random bill day for me as well, my June 'estimate' is around 30% more than it should be, but the fixed DD remains the same.1

Have they secretly moved their Call Centre to South Africa ? If so ,maybe they are getting Winter and Summer seasons mixed up !1

Mines just arrived as well. As usual it's all over the place, but the total amount that I have paid them since last September, when I joined, ties up more or less exactly with the number of units I've used plus the SC.
No problem really and it's still one of the cheapest suppliers.

I just went on Trustpilot to vent my spleen at Symbio and it seems to have crashed! My rant was long, but I didn't think it was of server collapsing proportions. Or do the highly reputable and ever trustworthy Trustpilot allow companies to take their reviews offline for "maintenance"??EDIT: It's recovered and, after editing my apparently rude words, it's posted!2

I am on a fixed DD and just reconciled my bill and the outstanding amount is about £3 in my favour so likely picked up some 1st of the month meter read free units along the way. The erroneous VAT calculation "discount" accounts for about 37p.And as for spelling errors, the online bill uses kHw as a unit of energy !0

Bunch of clowns still estimate I'll use 304 units when I only used 130 last month. Just glad I'm on a fixed direct debit so they are unable to take advantage.

My actual units used last month were 268, and that somehow makes Symbio estimate I will use 455 in June, which is more of a summer month than May! Very small direct debit this month though, as they are paying me back for the overcharge in April (gave reading a day late and they did not count it) and May. Though of course if they were realistic about potential units to be used in June, I would probably be due a refund ...A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion0 -
I have been with them for 14 months now. Last year I never had any issues. I submitted my reads and received a sensible bill. However since January that is when everything went wrong. I remember one bill for £118.00 when in fact the true figure was about £47.00 for the winter month. I could leave them but for me they are very cheap. I am on a 13 month contract with a rate of 10.57 per kw and 24.5p a day and that includes the vat. I just have to accept their over inflated estimates and hope it is reconciled the following month. So far this has happened.
Also because they got so confused earlier this year with my account I have ended up about £60 in my favour.0 -
I agree on the cheap - 15p a day plus 11.45p per kWh for me. It's the lies about over-estimating that annoy me. If they needed to estimate more in winter then they have to estimate less than EAC now. Their explanations are pure unadulterated rubbish and lies.
But, if you provide meter readings on time, the overcharging is reconciled every month and they're almost the perfect "pay for what you use" supplier.
The worry is whether they'll survive the summer. As each month's over-estimate is now lower than the last our payments are going down and (bar those on fixed DD) we're all paying less than EAC/12 each month. That's going to affect Smbio's cashflow and if they spent all the excess cash they harvested over winter then they are in big big trouble.0 -
I've been with them almost 11 months. They were fine until the Dec email. Since then they have overestimated every month and since April continue to use winter estimates and refuse to revert to summer estimates no matter how many letters I write complaining. Sent them another complaint yesterday regarding June estimate. They may be cheap but the uncertainty and the hassle makes them a non-starter, no way will I renew .
I wish Zog would do electricity as the contrast between them and symbio is night and day0
