I do wish Symbio would cut this rubbish from their meter reading emails:
"The UK energy market works on estimated profiling and this is normally accurate, but energy consumption behaviours have changed due to environmental awareness. The regular meter readings allow us to obtain more accurate data about your particular property and the change in the wider UK population."
Well Symbio, the meter readings might give you more accurate data about my property, it's just a shame that you're doing f**k all with that data and continue to invent totally fictitious estimates that bear no relationship to my actual consumption, the month of the year or my level of environmental awareness. I conclude therefore that you're just incredibly incompetent.1 -
Scores on the doors for May 2020
Symbio estimation of my usage: 42% above EAC/12 (adjusted)
My actual usage: 23% below EAC/12 (adjusted)
Looking foward to this month's bill as, barring a ridiculously low ball bill, Symbio will be estimating I have used more than EAC , with a couple of months still to go.
(Reality will probably be after 12 months that I will have used slightly less than EAC)

Meter read submitted with a lovely picture of my meter and I used 367 against 530 forecast. Yet again over estimated. I have been with them for 13 months surely they should have some how much I use by now.0

carpy said:@Talldave do they still have the 'free units' glitch or have they fixed this now?Honest answer is, I don't know. Last month it didn't work for me, but I will be trying again tomorrow. In true Symbio style, what I have noticed is that the slower they are to send out the bill, the higher the chance that they will ignore your readings; it doesn't make sense. I've had free units on 5 out of 8 bills so far. Results for May: EAC/12: 417, actual consumption: 349, Symbio estimate: 580.1

Ain't yer got zee name o the game, it's called "The Money Tree".
Just shake it. Nothing to do with meter readings or fair play.
All you have to do is register a(n) energy company and start collecting the dosh. Simples.

I had one of their 'final demand' requests for a meter reading today, but this time it said in bold lettering that if a meter reading was not provided today, then the reading would not be counted for this month's bill but held in abeyance until next month, so maybe this is their solution for avoiding giving a day's free electricity now that they know what we are up to as I don't think I have seen that message before.
Like Talldave's 'day late' reading at the end of April, they also ignored my 'day late' reading last month.A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion1
