No meter reading email reminder this month for me. Has anyone received one yet?
Edit: It's just come through now
In my email they also say they have a "new app" for customers.

Oh yes, I didn't see that. I'd rather not put it on my phone to be honest. I think I'll just stick with their website for submitting my readings. At least that's tried and tested.

What is the point of a Symbio app?  According to them it allows me to "access my account details on the go". Why I would want to access my electricity provider's account details whilst queuing outside Sainsbury's I have no idea.  I could, of course, use the same smartphone that would be running their app to log into their website.  I find apps that make no use of the phone's facilities (e.g. geo-location, calls, camera, etc) utterly pointless.

It would be interesting to hear from anyone brave enough to install the app whether it's as rubbish as the website.
The website shows a graph of "Energy Usage" - it's not, it's a graph of their stupid estimates and is therefore totally meaningless. They've been graphing my "Consumed in March 2020" consumption since the beginning of the month!  Oh hang on, the graph legend is wrong, it should say "Our totally unrealistic estimate for March 2020".  They really are useless; but cheap!

I do agree that producing graphs of random guesses and presenting them as energy usage is a bit of a pointless exercise and TBH I really don't need to access fiction on my mobile phone when picking my milk and eggs in Tesco.

I shall be sending in my reading tomorrow which again will bear no relationship to their guesstimate for March and shall wait with keen anticipation for the April saga to continue. Whilst they continue to take my DD payments based on EAC/12 it will sort it's self out by August despite it all.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

Tried, tested, ... and still not working correctly.
Here's the workaround I posted last September. Maybe it'll help that influx of new customers that had been waiting up to 25 March to get their  new, possibly dual, fuel application in to this outanding supplier?

Last I heard, which was several weeks ago, was that the Symbio IT department were still working on it. Looks like they just changed the logo and colours, but not the non-functionality.

Symbio now sending final reminder emails for meter readings. Usual patronising rubbish telling us that "energy consumption behaviours have changed due to environmental awareness". No doubt the latest reason why they'll be estimating consumption 60% above reality as we all burn the kW to help global warming??

Even though I managed to get them to reopen my account they have not bothered to send any reminder for my meter read. However being proactive I submitted one online today.

Scores on the doors for March 2020

Symbio estimation of my usage: 53.8% above EAC/12 (adjusted)
My actual usage: 14.8% below EAC/12 (adjusted)

    * EAC/12 is adjusted to account for number of days in the month.

    Don't forget.
April marks the official start of the Symbio spring/summer estimated meter read season.
I will look forward to my April estimated bill with interest to see:
    (a) if I receive one at all (still awaiting March 2020 bill)
    (b) what reduction Symbio apply to EAC/12 (adjusted) when making their estimation of usage

No doubt spring/summer is to be replaced by working from home/coronavirus increases?
