It doesn't seem to matter when I get the "we have submitted your readings" email, the bill arrives within a day or two, and Symbio have never failed to use my month-end readings in my bills.

I am transferring to Green Energy, Newcastle Upon Tyne and they are cheaper for me. than Symbio. The rate is 10.87 per kw and 20.00p  a day standing charge and that includes the VAT. So Symbio perhaps not so cheaper after all.
If, as it appears you are, you reside in the SWEB supply region, the Symbio's cheapest tariff currently available is just 10.439 per kw and 19.50p  a day standing charge, so perhaps they are the cheapest. (particularly for a fixed tariff)

As for us, we grabbed a super low Symbio tariff last summer. There is nothing currently on the market that does not cost at least 10% more, so we will succumb at this point to any actions, or inactions, by them to make us leave early.

Same for us. But our Feb bill was not produced until 10th, so days after they submitted our readings for validation.

In fact, apart from December, we've never had our bill before the 10th. of any month (and ignoring September as they pulled the incorrect bill on the 3rd that they produced on 2nd, re-issued 11th)  I posted our bill issue dates back on 04 Feb in this thread.

    February is a good example.
    • Reading submitted 31 Jan, immediate email acknowledgement,
    • "reading submitted" email received 6th Feb 11:51am,
    • bill arrived 7th Feb 00:27am (and again at 14:28 with the inclusion of a missing section :# )

Beats me why you are not also receiving this information if you are a genuine Symbio customer who is submitting meter reads.
I get those emails every month (two following my 2nd Feb meter reading) but they're just the usual Symbio crap - ie: they say they send the readings to the regulator (they don't). And yes, their waffle about 7 days is always the same.  My point is that up until this month, they have always used my readings on a bill issued 2 or 3 days after my reading was submitted.  But this month, the bill was issued 5 days later and they ignored the reading.  That's all it is, a simple curiosity about why they've managed month in month out to use my readings until this month, when the delay between reading submission and bill production was the greatest it's ever been.
I don't even believe they send the figures to the industry body every month anyway - no other supplier gives any hint of doing this, it's just at changes of supplier they do it.

I'd doubt if they send the readings in for validation every month.

The so called validation authority (assuming there is one) would be inundated with validation requests, not only with those who are swapping suppliers but also millions of readings every month from the rest of us. Add to that the possibility that the valuation authority might also be responsible to provide the random guesses for estimated bills to  those who cant be bothered to send in readings and you have a recipe for chaos.

Perhaps that's why it takes so long for people who are swapping to get final bills - VA are knee deep in trivial validation requests from Symbio

What makes you believe they don't send the meter readings?
    It's an automated reply.

    Same question to number 2.

It's not just Symbio who submit meter readings for validation on every bill.
How do youy think the independent meter reading validation agency can validate metere readings if they are not inundated with such readings? Many people have never even changed supplier, and of those who have,  have not done so for many years.

Still yet to receive my bill. Anyone else not had theirs yet?
    Received mine this evening.

Last month, after complaint over the original uplift, they applied a reduced 25% uplift which remains the subject of complaint.

This month, because they were forced to reconcile that over-estimation once they had the actual meter readings, they applied an almost 40% uplift presumably to satisfy their cash-flow requirements.

Dispute of this months bill already filed. Now to see if they will collect it regardless.

I'll be booking another breakfast appointment with my local bank manager tomorrow morning for the day they intend to collect. - the bill was sent to late this evening to make that booking.
Well it appears I'll be enjoying coffee & croissants with my local bank manager on Monday morning.

Not only have these bar stewards taken the money against my express instructions, they have also failed to provide proper advance notice on this occassion, and to make it a hat-trick of issues, took the money before the date specified on the bill.

Indemnity claim going in again, and this time they will lose the Direct Debit Mandate too until they can prove they will only use it in accordance with the Deirect Debit Terms and Rules.

You believe Symbio send my monthly readings to Ofgem? I don't.  They might send them to the industry's meter reading checking organisation, but I'm not even convinced they do that, particularly not if it costs them.
