Well again having a good evening until 21.50 hrs when my latest bill from Symbio arrived. This time they have excelled themselves by producing a bill for £98.00 when my usual bill should be no more than about £45.00 and usage about 400 kw a month. They have put it at 480 kw but not too worried about that. However this is the situation as follows:

My original bill for January was £91.48.  I paid this amount in two lots. One dd payment on the 9/1 for £55.00 and then a dd for £36.48 which covered the total amount to be paid.

They then decided an error had been made and then produced another bill for the same period and reduced it to £45.91.  As I had overpaid they refunded the £36.48 and that left £55.00 credit. That amount should then be applied to the revised January bill and leave me in credit of £9.09 to go towards my February bill.  

        The Feb bill states £45.91 unpaid (no mention of the £55.00 received) and with the estimated use brings it up to      £98.05.

Therefore the amount I should pay for February should be £43.05.  However after speaking to them this am they said fine we will deduct the £45.91 and pay them £52.14.  I tried to explain this to the advisor the situation but its so difficult to get them to understand. 

Also if I do not pay the full amount shown on the current bill then next month the £45.91 will still show.

I'm just at my wits end with this company and would appreciate any ideas to sort the matter out. 

I have done a quote online and Green are cheaper for me. I am happy to lose the £25.00 exit fee just to deal with an efficient company. Switch should be through on the 24 February. 

It just gets worse. They have  now sent me a revised bill and now instead of £91.48 the revised  bill is £108.00 with unpaid balance to £63.00 from £45.91. I have just got off the phone too them and told me to cancel the dd completely and only pay this amount for this months use and ignore the £63.00. You really cannot make this up. Even though I do not owe all this money I think I will have to pay it anyway. They are just a bl...dy shambles.

OMG Could it be any worse. They have now sent another revised bill and they now say I have unpaid balance of £27.39.  So this has gone in the last few hours from £45.91 TO £63.00 and now £27.39 unpaid balance.

My bill is looking fine, as far as it goes. They've used my supplied readings on 31st Jan.

For the Feb estimate they've only added about 33% as opposed to the ridiculous 89% for January.

I have a very small DD coming out this month after the inflated Jan one. Funny thing is, over the two months Jan and Feb the total payment will be more or less inline with what I would expect to pay. They could have saved themselves lots of grief if they'd kept to fixed monthly DDs.

Are many of the problems now stemming from those that requested amended bills for January?

I didn't ask for one but got one anyway, with the difference refunded immediately.  It's working in my favour so far.

I think so. Moving from automated incompetence to manual intervention incompetence must be very risky, since no Symbio employee can possibly understand the billing system because it doesn't work even before they started wrecking things.

I've just received an updated bill, now showing a section for a January variance credit. It's as I had calculated above.

This is what I got this morning. They are still randomly guessing how much they think I'll use but as they are just taking the agreed fixed DD I don't really care. I'm keeping my own records and it should all balance out at the end of my contract in August.
"Above is the Electricity Bill for the period: 01-02-20 - 29-02-20.
The invoiced amount is £130.19. The amount that will be collected as per your monthly fixed DD is £76.56 and this payment will be taken on 14-02-20."
