Good and Bad Buying at Lidl and Aldi (***Please don't expire***)

It's to stop people buying £25 of stuff to get the £5 discount and then returning some of it (effectively getting £5 discount off a smaller shop) - if you return some of what you've bought, you lose a proportion of the discount.Cornucopia said:
Mine too - how weird? 18p off this, and 21p off that, right the way down the receipt.LindsayT said:
On the bill though, it shows up as money off each item instead of £5 off at the bottom.

That could have been a feasible reason apart from the fact, that when there is a £5 coupon in a newspaper, it comes off the total shop at the bottom of the bill, so that doesn't really hold up.0

Is it not a case of you don't get the full discount unless you buy all the items that qualify?pumpkin89 said:

I didn't think there were strings attached: if Lidl sells it then £25 of product automatically qualifies for the £5 off with the app?duncanthedog said:

So much to read, so little time.0 -
I have not looked into the details as I am so far behind the rest of the world that I don't qualify for the discount but in my Lidl they have a stand set out showing a whole batch of things that are included in the deal and I took it to be that you had to buy these particular things, or at least a number of them, to qualify.0

There are item specific coupons that change every Thursday but the £5 off £25 spend is not item specific but cannot be used on alcohol or one other product, that I can't remember at the moment as I've already used my £5 coupon.0

I am on a customer/fan FB page for Aldi. And have noticed a lot of people have been complaining about items such as cereal that has had a recipe change not tasting as nice. I don't think I have any taste buds as I can't taste anything different

They have a habit of doing that, some tome ago now, the really nice savoury crackers changed to ones without the glaze coating and then tasted like cardboard so I stopped buying them, same with the liquorice allsorts which changed to a very washed out colour on the non liquorice bits. I've also noticed that the quality of some vegetables is going down, with many being like stuff that used to be labelled up B grade or class 2.calleyw said:I am on a customer/fan FB page for Aldi. I just started a cucumber in my fridge that has been sat in there for a week and half from Aldi. Still fine no softness or mould and still in the plastic wrap.YoursCalley x
