Good and Bad Buying at Lidl and Aldi (***Please don't expire***)

Thank for the info re the rebranding. I bought a couple of bottles of the new elderflower and apple variety last week and tried it for the first time yesterday. Not keen tho...thought it tasted Ok to start with but left a nasty synthetic/sweet aftertaste. Will just have to get a bottle of elderflower cordial and plain sparkling water and make my own I guess!!Cornucopia said:
I usually buy a bottle every week. At 32p (or is it 35p) it's a bargain.Miró said:I really like Aldi's sparkling water flavoured with elderflower but it has been missing from the shelves round here for ages. Has anyone spotted any recently or has it been discontinued?
A few weeks ago, they rebranded those sparkling water products, and the Elderflower variety, which used to have a blue cap, changed to "Apple & Elderflower" and now has a green cap. I don't think it tastes any different, though.0 -
I used the Lidl Plus App for the first time today. All very easy (you just scan your QR code using the scanner at the till, and it gives access to all the offers you have selected). I also got my £5 off on £25 spend, which is their introductory offer.1

I assume that was at a self-service till? Is there any reason why it cannot be scanned at a regular till?Cornucopia said:I used the Lidl Plus App for the first time today. So much to read, so little time.0 -
No reason at all. I handed my phone to the cashier today to get the £5 off and she scanned it. On the bill though, it shows up as money off each item instead of £5 off at the bottom.Rosa_Damascena said:

No. We don't have any self-service tills. They have installed mini scanners facing the customer, similar to the ones in Sainsburys.Rosa_Damascena said:

Mine too - how weird? 18p off this, and 21p off that, right the way down the receipt.LindsayT said:

I thought it was very strange, I would have expected £5 to come off at the bottom. My local Lidl doesn't have self-service tills either. Just to let people know, there is actually a dedicated thread for the Lidl Plus app.0

The scanner for the QR code on the Lidl Plus app looks like this - there's a hole in the 'sneeze' screens to do thisLindsayT said:

Well, as we don't have this in my local Lidl, as I said I handed the phone to the cashier with no problem.0

The Lidl I go to has no self scans. If i go to a store with self scan, would the scanner scan the QR code?0
